“The tobacconist apartment is situated in a fantastic central location. The flat itself is the epitome of stylish luxury. From the sumptuous living room with its comfortable sofas to the boutique hotel bathroom. There is a small but functional kitchen which is more than adequate but you’ll probably eat out most of the time like we did. We will definitely return to this apartment when we come back to visit York.”

“Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.”

“The property is on the ground floor with about 3 steps to the door itself, check in was a breeze with a lockbox and codes provided for entry into the building. The flat is located 5-7mins from The centre of York and the taxis into the centre are all reasonably priced. The flat was clean and tidy and even had some milk in the fridge for a cuppa to save a walk to the shops. Parking is directly outside the flat with no issues to find a space. Only niggle on a great stay was the doors having a life...

“It was a cute little bolt hole. We are however tall & it’s very low ceilings and doors so had to duck everywhere. Reasonably well equipped. Very comfortable bed. Some cobwebs between beams & in windows which we used a duster to move those above the bed. The bushes by the main entrance could also do with a trim as encroach on the door way when passing through.Some teas, coffees, biscuits and fresh milk was a nice touch as well as the a little freezer with the fridge. Easy to park in little car...

“I love this place. I’m a repeated guest. It provides everything you need to cook, wash clothes and sleep well. 2 request is to get a bigger standing fan. & change frying pans regularly as it was scratched up and was smelling bad chemically. I learned later they provide a replacement once you ask. They were responsive and I was grateful but pls pls provide a big fan. It got so hot one day like 33c and I was cooking !”

“Overall, we had an okay stay, but I feel the property was overpriced for what it offered. The location was convenient, around a 30-minute walk or 25-minute bus journey into York city centre. Having on-site parking was a real bonus, as was the nearby supermarket. We also appreciated the baby gate on the stairs, and our children loved sleeping in the bunk beds.
