We did not see a thermostat, which would have been helpful during the heat wave, but the temperature was bearable at whatever the standard setting was. “This property is in a convenient location and once was very nice but has, unfortunately, not been well maintained. The terrace had 5 cm of standing water due to a drainage issue and cans of cigarette butts and so was unusable. The overall cleanliness was not good when we arrived. We complained and they did send someone to make it a bit better thus three stars instead of two. We have stayed in several Dutch short term rentals and this one wasn’t up to the usual standard.”

“When we arrived the place was very cold 14 degrees and a window was open. We turned up heat, closed window and went into town, returned 3 hrs later. After returning, apt warmed up to 17 when thermostat was set to 20. And also - a very pungent sewer smell was pervasive in apt. Guessing that is why window was open when we arrived? We left again to walk to Ahoy for tennis and returned 3 hrs later to an even worse smell and cold apartment. We left that night and went to a hotel. I did not...
