“It's a beautiful old house and nicely located within walking distance of restaurants and pubs. Plenty of parking in the back. The staff are great - friendly and helpful. My only complaint was with the shower controls! After fiddling with them for quite some time, I finally managed to get water at a reasonable temperature to flow from the shower head rather than in the tub, but even now I don't think I could repeat the process.”

“Beautiful sea view room. The only downside to this hotel was that it has low water pressure in the shower and no drinking water in the room and had to go to the bar if you wanted any.”

“Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return.”

“Logistically superb - lots of walks, beach, at low tide you can go rock pooling etc. Bus stop right outside - which when the weather isn't great is a useful option to get around. There are small bus routes that loop certain areas - and you get a running commentary so worth jumping on. Hotel is fabulous - views are amazing, food is delicious, and good value, room were exceptional (you must like the sound of the sea) and the staff are kind, informative and go above and beyond. ”

“Bodde två nätter med familjen. Hotellet ligger mitt bland bostadshus. Jag hade bokat lägenhet med 1 dubbelsäng och 1 bäddsoffa. Vi fick en rymlig lägenhet med plats för 7 personer. Rent men i stort behov av uppfräschning. Det kändes som att komma in i 80-talet! Det regnade hela vår vistelse så utomhuspoolen var stängd. Bra läge dock, väldigt nära stranden.”

“In short: Great staff, great location, terrible Hotel. No AC in the rooms = sauna-level of heat in the room during the summer. They only have AC in the corridor, which doesn´t help what so ever. TERRIBLE isolation. During the weekends the pub 1812 and the club beside the hotel are loud enough for the bass to be felt in the beds, all the way to 4-5am. In my case, at one point, the Hotel gave my room-key to someone else, because of system error. This didn´t sit right with me. Once again,...
