Yangshuo Riverview Hotel
10/10 Fantastiskt
"One of the better hotels I've stayed in. If we consider the price - probably the best. First things first, the location of the hotel is extremely good. It is just off the busy area along the east bank of the river with incredible views of the mountains. The area is calm, but not "dead" and is a quite popular spot for tourists to take photos. So you will have some street-life outside - but no nightclubs. In addition to this it's connected to a popular restaurant that also serves the breakfast. It was stacked with groups most nights, and the food was nice although I usually ate the breakfasts (the big bowl of Chinese noodles almost kept me going the whole day). The service was exceptional, I had most contact with Kevin, and he booked taxis, ordered food, managed laundry and answered questions with applomb. The rest of the staff was also very helpful. They were easily reached through the popular Chinese chat app that you practically need for payments around town. Hotels.com does censor the name though. The room was clean, large and had its own balcony with morning sun and views over the peaks. It was almost too good, I wouldn't have been too disappointed even if I hadn't been able to leave the room. The toilet unfortunately is the type where you're not supposed to flush paper - but that isn't too unusual. The shower was big and well. equipped."

"Free bicycles was good as you can go downtown in 10 mins or just visit the villages around the river, there is an excellent restaurant just 3 mins away along the river. The part of town near the hotel is nicer than the touristy west street. There is a construction about 300 m opposite to the hotel which affects the view negatively and a lot of trucks pass by the hotel at the moment but I guess after 2-3 month it will be a better situation. Restaurant in hotel has surprisingly perfect western food, tried various pasta and pizzas."

"From the moment arriving at Yangshuo Sugar House we were instantly charmed. The architecture is stunning, the staff are incredibly warm and attentive, and every building is photogenic. You never get tired of the views, food was perhaps the best we've had in all of China, and the spa is exceptional. Loved the activities too, like rock climbing and bamboo raft on the Li River. Tip: Honestly, do activities around Yangshuo and Guilin before arriving because once you’re at Sugar House you won’t want to leave!"
