The "Mud House" - A beautiful southwest adobe home

The 'Mud House' is a historic gem crafted by renowned architect Joesler using traditional burnt adobe construction. This charming home features a spacious two-bedroom, one-bath layout that showcases unique architectural elements like graceful arches, original hardwood floors, and lofted ceilings. The primary bedroom includes a king bed, while the second bedroom has a queen bed, comfortably accommodating up to four guests.

The interior highlights hand-carved Mexican wood furniture and striking desert-inspired art throughout. Multiple patios invite you to soak in the Tucson climate, while the backyard presents unique amenities, including a basketball court, a private yoga studio (fully equipped with mats and props) for moments of tranquility, and a meditative rock labyrinth for spiritual reflection. For those seeking deeper wellness experiences, optional yoga classes, tea ceremonies, and reiki healing sessions are available through our local host.

Modern conveniences include strong WiFi, a brand-new 70-inch smart TV, and an Alexa-enabled speaker in the living room. The well-equipped kitchen retains its historic character while providing all essential cooking needs. The home's authentic charm extends to its original bathroom. As with many historic properties, the plumbing system requires gentle care.

Perfectly located just minutes from downtown and the University of Arizona, with Reid Park Zoo conveniently situated across the street. Private driveway parking can accommodate multiple vehicles, and access is seamless with both a key and keypad entry. Basic amenities, including coffee, tea, and toiletries, are provided for your convenience.

Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, this serene retreat is ideal for those seeking an authentic Tucson experience. Nestled among saguaros and the desert landscape, just across from Reid Park (home to the Tucson Zoo, Reffkin Tennis Center, and two 18-hole golf courses). It's only minutes from downtown and the University of Arizona. It's ideal for families, couples, or anyone seeking a comfortable and authentic Tucson experience.

I am a Tucson native and love to support my guests. I live just around the corner, so if you need anything, I am only a few minutes away. My mom, Laurie, is a co-host. She is also available if needed.Please note that out of respect for our neighbors, this is not a party house.

Fantastic place and host!

The house had all the charm depicted in the photos. I loved the labyrinth! Laurie, the local contact, was more responsive than any other host I've encountered in many years of vrbo stays. The location was perfect for me, but be aware that if you are outside you hear traffic noise from the main street a block away. Also, it's an older house, so has the aches and pains that come with age. The kitchen is small and not at all updated which didn't matter to me, but does have all the necessary appliances (including an electric citrus squeezer).
