“Staff was kind. Everything else was falling apart. Bathrooms had mess on walls and floors. Cigarette burns in the vinyl flooring. AC didn’t work. Elevator carpet was ripped up and had dirty walls. The showers and tubs were brown.”

“It’s fine as a baseline motel. The place is run down, especially as compared to the neighborhood- hallway carpets were musty, but the room’s was ok. Their hospitality is also baseline… strict 10:30 checkout, etc. Minihaha falls is close, which is why I chose the spot, and there’s bus and transit a block away. It worked out, though I personally would expect a lower rate for the quality.”

“You get what you pay for. Rate was reasonable. Room had hard flooring vs. carpet so it was clean. Walls were dirty in the room. Beds were fine. Towels were good. Older decor if that is important to you. Room had small fridge with freezer and a microwave. Coffee and juice is all they offer in the morning and the juice was warm from the dispenser. Hallway carpets were clean and fresh. Looks like a lot of construction workers stay there. Much of the parking lot was filled up with construction...

“We frequently choose older motels that cost less. We look closely at their photos, and if it looks updated and clean we choose it. Usually we find it is owned/managed by an immigrant family, frequently from the Subcontinent, and they do an excellent job with the older property. The Royal Inn in Hudson, Wis., is such a place. It was very clean, the air conditioning worked well on a hot day, parked right in front of our room. Convenient location.”

“Good price, room service each day of our stay. Both positives. The not so good, the room was very hot when first entering. The brown middle blanket was falling apart. The carpet was dirty and stained. The table chair was dirty and stained, did not sit on it! Some of these items could be corrected without spending a lot of money and would have made the stay much better. Thank you.”
