“Check in was super easy and fast. It's nothing special but all I needed was a clean quiet place to sleep for the night and that's what I got.”

“Cute property for a night or 2. Nice little bar and coffee shop attached. Check-in is a little different, no one is here you just have an envelope. No one for checkout. If quiet is what you seek then this may not be the place for you. You can hear kids running the halls and cars pass outside. Rooms are excellent and big. Bed is nice, bring your own pillows. AC in the room kept up with our polar bear needs. I’d say again for another 1 night trip. ”

“Big Horse Inn is a hidden gem in this part of Illinois. It is perfectly located, close to Dickson Mounds (great hiking trails), Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge, and the Illinois/Spoon River area. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Self check-in could not have been easier. Don't miss the attached Black Maple coffee shop for delicious breakfast and lunch options (and coffee, of course). “We were checking in late so called them and they gave us nice instructions, everything. Was great. We booked 2 rooms and they gave us adjoining so we could open the door and hang out as a family. Even though we were late, we were greeted by the host and given recommendations for dinner. Very nice and clean place, great comfortable beds. ”

“Perfect location for our visit; one block from the Nauvoo Temple. The apartment is well stocked and the four bedrooms are spacious and comfortable for a large group. Parking is right on the street and so easy, steps from the front door. We ate at the lower level restaurant for multiple meals and it was great quality and price. The apartment is quiet and cozy and everything you would want for stopping in this small town. ”
