“Our stay at Baliyana lodge was excellent! We spent our Christmas here and our hosts recommended several nearby restaurants for the holidays. The lodge is situated in the countryside and a car with some clearance is recommended if staying here. The room was clean but there is no door to the bathroom. “Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax.”

“I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! Hope to return next winter! Pura vida!”
