We found a new home i Venice
What can we write that has not been written already about this wonderful apartment, nothing really. All the descriptions of the place are 100% right, the marvelous view from the windows, the space, the cleanliness etc. So, we will try to express ourselves in another way by writing a bit about another apartment. If that sounds strange, just read this through and you will understand. We went to Venice for the first time in 2010 and stayed in Sebastiano’s apartment, not this one though but another one. We felt directly when we stepped inside that this was not a holyday apartment but a real home. It was like the apartment was saying “You are welcome here, I will take care of you during your stay”. We immediately started to call the apartment “ours” and we have been back there several times since then. So, when we decided to go back again this year, we were very disappointed when we got the information that “our” apartment was no longer available, it was sold!
Now we will get back to the Gaffaro apartment in this review. Sebastiano sent us the link and after having studied the pictures we decided, even though we felt hesitant, to try staying someplace else than in our “lost home”. Add what happened? When we stepped inside, we both said WOW, this is “our new home” here I Venice! The Gaffaro apartment greets you in the same way as the other apartment did. It has a welcoming home feeling that is hard to describe, it just is there, a home away from home! Just imagine watching the boats coming in the morning with their deliveries for the shops while you are having your coffee, and the boats and gondolas passing by later in the day while you are drinking a glass of good Italian wine all that from your living room windows or from your kitchen window as well. This view is like a magnet that almost keeps you from going out. But you must eat of course and if you don’t feel like cooking yourself (the kitchen is very well equipped) there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. We could go on forever telling you how wonderful this place is bur we will stop now and suggest you go there and find out for yourselves. As for giving stars to this property we certainly give it FIVE from each of us, and as we are two persons that will be TEN, and those ten includes you of course Sebastiano! We will be back in our new “home” as soon as possible! Arrvederci!
