âThis is our go-to lodging when attending the opera at Glyndebourne. A wonderful, country house in Uckfield, set on beautiful, expansive private grounds. Comfortably and exquisitely furnished, it is always a pleasure to arrive and occupy the spacious common rooms and assigned bedrooms. As frequently encountered in England, old properties may lack some modern amenities Americans are used to like air conditioning and convenient USB charging ports. Televisions are dated; rooms do not have clocks....
âWe got our room 2,5 hours too late just to find an unclean room with a squeaky bed which also turned out to be very noisy from both other rooms and the pub.
Although we asked the management to mend our bed it was never sorted out.
The restaurant's food was not good and still quite expensive. However, great breakfast and location very nice for the price of a five star hotel...

âBreakfast buffe was a little bland and the toilet could've been cleaned a little more attentively, other than that, very pleasant. Blinds closed out all light and hotel was clean and staff were helpful. I'd stay here again!â

âSo this was good:
- The location. Close to the sea and to stores and the center of town.
- The bed. Mattress, pillows, cover, sheets - fresh, comfortable.
There are room for improvements:
- No cleaning or even emptying of trash in the mon-fri stay. I have no need for getting the bed made or vacuuming in that time, but nothing is not good. I looked for notes to put on the door, like please have a look in here, but there were none.
- The balcony door was ajar (not just unlocked, but open)...

Personalen var hjÀlpsamma med allt och ett jÀttefint rum med utsikt ut över stormiga havet, varmt och skönt.

Outside grassy area had a lot of cigarette butts which was unpleasant. Also outside seating on grass a few more options would be good. Most of the seats were really low.
Will definitely be back.â
âThe room was spacious and had sea view. Comfortable bed. There was a good choice of restaurants and shops nearby. The lobby was cosy where you could take coffee, tea and snacks. This hotel had two exceptionally nice receptionists, Daniela and Lily. You really felt welcome. I got a feeling like I was a VIP. Of course the rest of the staff was nice also.â
âThe bed was a king size comfortable bed with nice linen. Clean fluffy towels and plenty of room in the bathroom. The shower was good and did not have any mould. We stayed in one of the pubs old out buildings that has been converted into accommodation. No frills, clean and private. The only thing to consider is that the headboard backs onto the road. That being said only 3 vehicles passed during our stay. The owner was nice and chatty. The blinds in the bedroom did let the morning sun in they did...
âMysigt litet hotell med trevlig personal och fantastisk frukost. Ligger inom gĂ„ngavstĂ„nd till centrum och nĂ€ra havet. Det enda som Ă€r mindre bra Ă€r att det inte finns nĂ„gon hiss och att receptionen stĂ€nger 19.00 (men de kan nĂ„s pĂ„ telefon).â
âThe room was nothing like the pictures, instead we got a dark basement room. The door was opened with a code and didnât have a lock on the inside which felt very unsafe.
There was a tiny patio that we couldnât use because it was covered in bird faeces and had a pigeon family living there. This also meant we couldnât open the windows because of all the flies. The water pressure was good but the water didnât get very warm. The bedding had stains and didnât feel clean.

"Frukosten var bra, önskvÀrt hade varit lunch frÄn 12-15 ca. Ligger man pÄ stranden utanför sÄ finns det inte sÄ mÄnga lunchstÀllen i nÀrheten dÄ hade det varit fint att gÄ pÄ hotellet och Àtit."
