“Second time to stay at The Gathering!!Highly recommend!”

“House was clean but the smell from the cleaning supplies was over powering. Several of the plugs need replacing. The power cords would not stay in. Host was very communicative. Hot tub was nice and its location was super cool. Close enough to the downtown area but not really within walking distance. ”

“The room was fine but the internet on the TV kept going in and out. It was impossible to watch even one complete show. Also, the hot tub never got hot.”

“When we arrived, we found mouse droppings on the bed, in the bathroom & dining room area. We had to wash the bedding and clean up. (So much for the cleaning fee, they charge!) Very disappointed in what our once favorite place to stay, has become. The past 2 times we've stayed, we've been dissatisfied with the cleanliness, which we brought to Gaustehaus Schmidt's attention. Decided to try again. Strike three, they're out. We'll have to search for another place, next time.”

“We enjoyed our time at this property. It was clean and everything was as expected and would give it high ratings with one major exception. The dog kennel that is across the street. They let the dogs out around 7am and they don’t stop barking for hours. It went on and on and on and started way too early, especially on the weekend. “My husband and I were looking for a place to escape the city. This was it! The house was on top of a hill, overlooking a pasture. The owner did an amazing job of setting up several types of feeders to attract different types of birds. I had my coffee on the porch in the morning, then we rested there again in the late afternoon.
