We had such a wonderful stay at the Cartmel Old Grammar Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldnât have been more friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely â they made us feel completely at home.

âA lovely apartment right in the centre of Bowness-On-Windermere. The accommodation was spotless, cleaning spray, washing up liquid and cloths were provided.
The bed was lovely and comfortable.
People have mentioned the stairs up to the apartment. They caused us no problem but if people have mobility problems I can understand they might be a problem.
If we return to the area we would stay here again. I am glad I didnât book somewhere in Windermere, this was five minute walk to the lake. â

âThis is an amazing hotel. Friendly staff, wonderful restaurant and menu. We loved everything about this hotel. We would highly recommend it.

âI put in the postcode but car sat nav directed me as far as the local pub only! After turning down a wrong lane past the pub in the pitch dark (9pm on an October evening) ascending up at a dead end I rang the owner who instructed me to carry on past the pub for another 2 miles!
I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the âequestrian centreâ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). I rang the owner again and...
âFabulous suite, fabulous customer service.
We even got shown around the other suites when we booked out so we could see what other suites are available.
We will most definitely be back. Weâve stayed in other high end boutiques in the area, but this is by far the best. â

We stayed at this amazing hotel for our wedding anniversary on the 1st of August for 2 nights. The staff in all areas were out of this world and could not do enough for us especially in the restaurant and I have to give a special mention to Derrick who is incredible and takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows.
