Bekvämt hotell med medelmåttig mat

Här finns allt för den som vill ha en bekväm vistelse med närhet till havet. Bufférestaurangen hade ett brett utbud men det mesta var ganska smaklöst.

First of all, the Staff were all outstanding. As for the room, our key card did not work on the first room; after calling and waiting twice outside after a long flight they had to change batteries to let us in. The room was quite warm and AC wasn't working, also the toilet periodically ran through the night making a loud whistling sound waking us up, and the bed was extremely hard so very little sleep. Not a good start. After a request to move, we were sent to another room that did not have issues, had a bed topper and a larger TV. (This was what they call a Premiere room at Coba). All the room layouts are exactly the same at Coba and showing quite a bit of disrepair but overall OK. the new room was satisfactory, and I would say about a 3 star room IMO.

Waren das 3. mal dort und wieder sehr zufrieden. Die Anlage ist riesig und schön grün, die Tiere sind toll. Unsere Wahrnehmung war, dass an der Auswahl des Essens reduziert wurde, was wir persönlich angesichts der dennoch großen Auswahl und in Anbetracht von Lebensmittelverschwendung, die leider viel zu häufig zu beobachten ist, völlig in Ordnung ist. Wir hatten das Upgrade um die anderen Resorts mitnutzen zu können was den Aufenthalt von über 2 Wochen noch abwechslungsreicher gestaltete.

We have stayed at Bahia Principe several times over the years. We noticed some changes this time around: more restrictions on where we weren't able to enjoy different areas of the resort that didn't used to exist, as well as the Coba section of the property beginning to feel its age, where the other sections have seen renewal. Some of the little extras we experienced in the past have fallen off, but overall, it still felt like a great experience for the fact that the staff are so warm, hardworking, attentive and really do give you the sense of being waited on hand and foot. Our rooms were decent, furnished as they were in years past, and comfortable, with daily housekeeping service that kept everything spotless and well stocked. I let the maintenance staff know our mini-fridge wasn't working, and it was replaced with a new unit. The food was as good as we've seen in the past. While I'm sure some of the larger resorts in Mexico have increasingly moved toward using pre-packaged food, most of what is served at Bahia Principe is clearly freshly prepared on-site, the buffets are abundant with lots of choice, and we usually focus heavily on the Mexican section of the buffet for some authentic local flavour. The bar service was always great, with lots of options and well-prepared cocktails. The grounds and pools are well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. The beach was beautiful and clean. Make sure you bring lots of small bills to tip all the wonderful staff!

Clean room and friendly staff. Drinks are horribly watered down and sweet. You have ask for a shot of a specific liquor to add to your drink separately or they will grab this premix behind the bar that’s sweetened. The food is mediocre but not horrible. The location is quite far from both Tulum the city and Playa Del Carmen. Ubers, Taxis, and shuttles are unavailable unless pre booking and spending absurd amounts on travel. The beach is very small and not very nice. Pools are not heated and hot tubs do not exist.

Amazing stay overall! Great customer service, top notch entertainment, especially the New Year’s Eve party!! The food options were great with a large selection and the specialty restaurants were way better than we expected! Pools, beach and chairs weren’t overcrowded at all. Outdoor setting and grounds were beautiful, clean, well maintained and ambient walking trails with tram options if you don’t want to walk. We stayed in Coba and the only reasons for the four stars would be the rooms are dated, the bathroom doesn’t have an exhaust fan which causes moisture and a tad mildew smell in the room. We asked for a king bed and got two full beds pushed together. Also blankets are extremely thin. Our underage kids (17 and 14) were not given underage wristbands and were being served drinks unbeknownst to us. Other than that, this stay was amazing and we had a great time!!

The room was spotless, I would leave a note and a tip and the lovely person would go over and above to meet my needs. I loved how kind the staff was, the food was excellent! My teenage daughter and I did this trip to see what it was like and we are going to bring back my sons and husband for Spring break. We are going to stay in the Luxury part for the private pool area. The beach was one of the most beautiful I have seen. A Caribbean bath as we referred to it.

Clean rooms and great service. Everyone is polite and ready to be at service from the front desk to the concierge. Loved the villa with the balcony, the pool and the beach. Great place for families and kids. Actually, the distance from Bahía Príncipe to the bench is walkable but the shuttles were on time and it was fun riding them. There are drinks everywhere and the food in the buffet was delicious. Beautiful sunsets, shows, music, and space to sit and enjoy the nice weather. Highly recommended.

On the positive side, the hotel has a beautiful and spacious territory, plenty of activities, great animation, and very good food at the buffet. The staff truly deserves special mention — they were friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best to help guests and create a pleasant atmosphere. However, there were several significant issues that affected our stay. The navigation around the resort is very poor. Upon arrival, we were not given any maps, schedules, programs, or basic information about how the hotel works — no guidance on activities, restaurants, or transportation. Everything had to be figured out on our own. The room was another major concern. There was a strong smell of mold, and it felt like the room had not been renovated in decades. Some wall lights were partially detached with nearly exposed wiring. The air conditioner was very old and difficult to operate, and most of the power outlets in the room did not work. Electrical issues were noticeable throughout the property as well — many lights around the resort were not functioning, and the hotel experienced several power outages, which was surprising for such a large complex. We also had issues with the à la carte restaurants. Out of three promised options, we were only able to book two. We missed one reservation because we were not informed that transportation was required to get there, nor were we told about the shuttle schedule. The room had holes in walls in bathroom.Ants all over the room. Staff were unfriendly. Food was horrible. Not enough bars for drinks so always long lines. Drinks were not consistent. The front desk people were very helpful which was the only good thing about the resort. We did get the upgrade on the bracelets thanks to expedia so we used the other resorts most of the time and they were much better. If it wasnt for the expedia upgrade our stay would of been 0 stars.

The beach not so good, room decent, standard. Maube good to have smat TV inside for easy connection with your devices. I think about having more signs with directions inside the resort. Or some kind of color code for the alleys(or on the edge of the alleys), indicating directions
