Bra läge

Bra med närhet till Companys Garden och utsikt mot Taffelberget från övervåningen där vi bodde. Men mycket ostädat under sängen upptäcktes när vi letade något vi tappat. Trevlig personal som lät oss stoppa grejor i kökets kyl, men köket var rörigt och kändes lite ofräscht. Dock fin Frukost med olika pålägg och frukt bl a.

Great guesthouse in a great area

The blue house is a pretty and spacious guesthouse in a very nice (safe, calm and somewhat hip) area. Big rooms, good breakfast and welcoming staff. Just a block away from a few of Cape Town’s best bars & restaurants. I’d stay there again.

Perfect if you want old charm

Added a few days in Cape Town to a business trip and stayed here. Decided it would be easier for parking over a city centre hotel and also fancied somewhere with character. Its not a hotel, its a guest house and not perfect, however if little things like low pressure in the shower dont bother you id highly recommend it. Location wise its perfect. You can walk UP to the table mountain lift station and into town easily, we even walked back from signal hill on the old tracks dropping straight into the estate area at sun down. On the doorstep is a great restraunt and a fab bar opposite (upstairs) which is pretty hipster but great beer and awesome food, cheap and the sort of place you lose yourself in all night. Theres also some nice coffee shops and such on the doorstep too. The host was great and nice selection of food for breakfast. Overall a great change to a hotel and reasonable price too. Would you stay again, yes!

Excellent location for 20 minute walk to historic district of Cape Town. There were electricity shortages in the city during my stay, such that power was cut off one evening and in the middle of the night on another occasion which tended to play a bit of havoc in terms of battery recharging and AC but unless one would expect a B& B to have its own independent generator, (which I did not), then that’s beyond the control of the the hotelier. The property, in an upscale, gated community, has an eclectic clientele ranging from backpackers to business travellers, all of whom seem to abide by the quiet, informal rules and each suite has its own bathroom and informal sitting area.

Good location for cape town stay

Good stay, conveniently located, no parking available although booking said free parking, no major issue. No breakfast service in morning when i was there so just had some fruit. Loud guests in morning outside room was my wake up call. Well priced.

Mine was only an overnight stay, and it worked out very well. Friendly service, comfortable, informal. Enjoyed the breakfast too.

Lovely guest house.

Felt at home. Staff very responsive and helpful. Area close to restaurants and shops. I was able to walk to most of my destinations. Would stay there again.

Excellent service and staff

The hotel room was clean and the price was reasonable. The location of the hotel is close to the town and good access. The staff of the hotel was also very kind. When I came to South Africa, my baggage did not arrive and baggage was sent to the hotel later. The hotel staff kindly helped me to answer the phone so that my baggage would reach the hotel safely.

Comfortable guest house, good location

Wow! That was my reaction when I entered my room. It was spacious, well equipped & beautifully designed. The bed looked very inviting. The in-room safe deposit box was big enough to hold my camera & tablet along with other items. The bathroom was spacious with towels and toiletries. Breakfast was good, the homemade banana bread was delicious. The view from the veranda was great. It was lovely to eat my breakfast, sitting in the sunshine. It’s in a good location, close to bus stop and restaurants. Kloof Road with lots more bars and restaurants is a little further away. I was a lone, female traveller and would not recommend walking alone at night but the daytime was perfectly safe.

Victorian B&B in safe residential area.

Stayed for 6 nights at the Blue House in the economy double room. I had been a bit concerned it would be tiny however was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and the fact it had a private balcony overlooking the local park. The room was kept clean and tidy by the staff. The local area was very attractive with a range of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops within 10 minutes walk on Kloof Street. So no need to worry about a taxi.

Nice hotel

Nice small and cozy hotel in a good neighbourhood of Cape Town. I stayed in a room next to the breakfast room, so it was noisy in the evening and from early in the morning. The beds were good, shower was great and the evening staff was very helpfull and friendly.

Comfortable guest house close to the city

The blue house is situated close to the bus runs into the city and camps bay, enjoyed 6 nights here quiet and nice room with satalite tv, and fair wi-fi . Small swimming pool and veranda to sit outside. Breakfast hmmm. Ok but you have to be quick to get some . Helpful staff and the house is very safety concoious.

Great stay

This was an excellent spot to stay while I looked for an apartment as I was staying in Cape Town for three months. If they had a room with a small kitchen I would have stayed for three months. The location is excellent, the rooms large clean and neat. It was low season so the value for the money was excellent. The breakfast in the morning is basic but fresh and good. The staff is very kind and helpful. It was low season so a few nights I was alone in the building which was scary at first but I got used to it. There is no 24 hour front desk service as it is a guesthouse, but there is a staff member is available, her apartment is next door and you are supplied with contact phone numbers for everyone. On the first night the heat did not work in my room. I dialed the number given and got no response. Finally I called Emma the manager and she was right on the situation. In a matter of minutes a fantastic heater was delivered to my room and the next day I was upgraded to a larger room. I loved that room. I am still traveling and when I find myself in a tiny room I think of my room at The Blue House. A fridge and a microwave would have kept me there for three months. The views of Table Mountain were awesome. MyCiti is one of the best city bus systems I have ever experienced. You can get just about anywhere on it and it is only two blocks from the house.Overall this was a great stay and Emma was a very good manager/hostess.

Great location, awesome deal!

Super convenient location! Staff was amazingly helpful (Shirley was by "bell"). Great restaurants within walking distance, coffee, laundromat (or have it done on site). We parked onsite. We peaked in all the rooms (I think there are 7) and we had the super small room. All the others were large, with sofas and moving room. While our room was super small.....it did have a lovely balcony over the pool. Would definitely stay there again!!
