    The space
    This studio apartment in Lakeview near Wrigley Field offers a comfortable and inviting space for guests to relax and unwind. The apartment features an open layout, seamlessly blending the living, dining, and sleeping areas. With stylish furnishings and tasteful decor, the space exudes a cozy atmosphere. The fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed to prepare meals, while the sleeping area offers a comfortable bed for a restful night's sleep. With its convenient amenities and prime location, this studio apartment is the perfect home base for exploring all that Chicago has to offer.

    Guests will have full access to the apartment, but will not have access to any of the common areas.

    Other things to note
    This is a studio apartment located on the ground level. We have received feedback in the past regarding the size of the unit and that it may look larger in photos than it does in person. This is a small studio apartment and is approximately 400 sq ft. We want to be very transparent about this so please aware prior to booking.

    There is free street parking available on Hermitage Ave on a first-come, first-served basis. I have never had an issue finding parking in front of the apartment. Please be sure to read all the street signs and tow zone warnings before parking to avoid tickets and tows. Depending on the time of day, there may be fewer spots available, but it has never been an issue to find one.

    If you would like to explore other parking options, I can recommend websites such as SpotHero or ParkWhiz, which can help you find convenient and affordable parking spots in the area.

    **HOUSE RULES**

    We want you to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay! To help keep the space safe, clean, and pleasant for everyone, please review and follow the house rules below. Failure to comply may result in cancellation or additional charges.

    Shoes off, please. Kindly remove shoes upon entering the unit.

    No smoking anywhere inside the unit or on the property. Smoking will result in immediate cancellation and a $200 damage fee.

    No drugs, including marijuana.

    No illegal activities anywhere on the property.

    No parties or events.

    No outside visitors.

    No overnight guests without prior approval from the host.

    Food storage: Please store all food in designated areas and do not leave food out to help prevent pests.

    Kitchen use: Feel free to use the kitchen, but please clean up after yourself. Wash dishes, wipe counters, stove, and microwave. No dirty dishes left in the sink overnight.

    Damages: If anything is broken or damaged, please let us know right away so we can arrange repair or replacement.

    Checkout cleaning:
    Please wash dishes, return moved furniture to its original place, and take out the trash before checkout.
    The standard cleaning fee covers normal turnover cleaning. If the unit is left excessively dirty (dirty dishes, trash left throughout the unit, etc.), an additional cleaning fee of up to $100 may apply.

    Towels & linens: Provided for your entire stay. If you need extras, please let us know in advance. A $50 fee applies to cover the cleaner’s trip. Paid laundry facilities are available in the building.

    Lost keys: A $300 fee applies for lock and key replacement. Please note that lost keys cannot be replaced immediately, and you may temporarily lose access to the unit and building amenities.

    Quiet hours: Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

    Late checkout: Checkout time is 11:00 AM. Late checkout without prior approval will incur a $50 fee, which covers the cleaner’s waiting time.

Functional. Get what you see

Functional rental for those one a tight budget and/or have need to stay near Wriggly. Owners were nice and responsive. Unit was clean. Slight issue with a lack of a curtain to cover door window. One could see straight into all rooms from ouside the door. We hung a el over it. Perfect for one person.

Horrible to the point of constituting fraud

There was a fair amount of mold in/around the bathtub, and when the owner asked me to text pictures, I did so, and I've not yet gotten a refund. I forwarded the pictures about 15 days ago. What's worse, the owner has refused to answer my text since I sent the pictures, despite that we were in more or less regular communication in the hours/day leading up to the discovery of the mold. And, consistent with mold, the place smelled of mildew. It was dank. Additionally, the place is definitively not in Lakeview, as claimed. Lakeview is the more desirable and safer neighborhood, which, of course is why it was falsely advertised as being in that neighborhood. The property is actually about a half mile north of the Lakeview neighborhood. VRBO, also, has thus far refused to refund me, claiming that I should not have left the premises immediately but rather should've called them first while still in the property. Candidly, it's unconscionable that I've not received a refund yet, given the obviously unsanitary/unsafe conditions presented by mold.

Perfect!

I can hands down say this is our new preferred place to stay every time we come to Chicago. The location is perfect - a quiet, cute little neighborhood where you could easily forget you were even in a city, a quick and easy drive to the beach and all the tourist hotspots, bike rental around the corner and a reasonable walk to about a dozen different cafes and restaurants at least. The apartment itself is exactly as pictured. The kitchen is bigger than I expected. There's shelving and a rack for hanging clothes. Everything we could need or want for a short stay was provided. The chairs at the foot of the bed were so comfy we were googling them to see if we could get them for home. Neighbors were friendly and quiet. There's some noise from upstairs but only what you'd expect for people living above you. Parking was always easy to find, even for our long wagon. The bottom of the windows by the bed is at ground level, unlike a lot of "garden" units in Chicago where you only get a sliver of light and are very aware that you're in a basement. This place was truly at garden level, and you could see the lovely front garden right out the windows. Oh and our host was quick to communicate and wonderful to work with. He checked in to make sure we got in alright and was a delight. I don't know if I would want to stay here forever, because it is a little on the smaller side (as advertised), but for a few days or even a week for two people? Absolutely perfect.
