Grey Heron Àr ett fantastiskt modernt hus vid vattnet inbÀddat i strandlinjen i Chincoteague Bay. Du kommer att Àlska planlösningen; ett fantastiskt bra rum med trÀgolv flankerade av ett kök pÄ ena sidan och en öppen spis pÄ den andra. Och fantastiska fönster i hela! Det finns ocksÄ ett "vardagsrum" med inbyggda bÀnkar och 180 * vattenutsikt. Det Àr underbart! Varje rum Àr utformat sÄ att det finns fri utsikt över bukten och myrarna - inklusive hisnande solnedgÄngar! Den första nivÄn har ocksÄ tvÄ privata sovrum som delar ett komplett badrum. Den andra berÀttelsen (nÄs via spiraltrappa) Àr en sovrumsvit och badrum. Det finns mÄnga balkonger och mycket utomhusutrymme. Den avskÀrmade verandan Àr perfekt för att Àta pÄ alfesca och det finns gott om dÀckomrÄde precis utanför vardagsomrÄdet. Not the best experience...

The house is really shabby, which you can't tell from the pictures. My family didn't even want to go in when we arrived. During our stay, some contractors came to stain the decks (which we were sitting on at the time). I asked the property management if these men were supposed to be there while we were occupying the house. They responded that it was the property owners' scheduling error and for the inconvenience, they wanted to offer us a credit for one night stay (at a future date). We thought that was a little insulting considering the experience made our stay very uncomfortable and awkward. And, no, we aren't taking the offer. We will stay somewhere nicer next time. The property was nice. We enjoyed the waterfront and beautiful view. And the private dock was amazing. But the house itself was uncomfortable and in bad shape. Also, if you book this property, make sure you check your invoices. The property management charged me several hundred dollars more than what I agreed to pay on vrbo. I contacted vrbo to get information as to why that had happened and they said there must have been an error, I should only have to pay what was agreed upon when booking the reservation online (which makes sense). I contacted the property manager about the discrepancy and they said they don't normally adjust their prices based on vrbo listings but they would do it for me once as a courtesy. WHAT?! We had a contract. You can't just raise the price after the agreement. It was strange.

Well worn but comfortable

The house is a bit rough around the edges, but comfortable. The upstairs bedroom is glorious. One of the bedrooms is facing the bay and is very pleasant. The other faces the road and gets full sun. It was over 85 in this room in November! Several broken appliances but plenty of utensils. Great place to have a relaxing stay.

Nice house with a great view!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at this house! It has the best view and sitting outside by the water was extremely relaxing. Our host was always so nice and helpful when we had requests. The kitchen was well equipped, just a little old-fashioned. The location is wonderful for visiting Assateague Island. And don't forget to get an ice cream at the Island Creamery.

Christmas in Chincoteague

Property was fantastic. Haven’t been to Chincoteague since I was a child. Beautiful, quaint, friendly town. Rental location perfect. Would visit again.

Birthday weekend

My husband, son and myself came for my 40th birthday weekend. We lucked out and had almost 60 degree weather and the house was breath taking! I would definitely stay at the grey heron again! Thank you so much

Beautiful!

This property was absolutely amazing. This was our group’s first time to Chincoteague and we absolutely loved it! The view and the dock made the entire trip so much fun. The screened in porch was also so beautiful. We can’t wait to come back!

Great place to stay on the water

This place is advertised and didn't disappoint. The views of the water and sunset were amazing. And it was close to the national seashore and trails. One note: we stayed in the winter and the wind off the water can make some of the rooms drafty. Overall the heat was fine, but a few nights were chilly. Just keep in mind - still a great place to stay.
