“Great 2 night stay in this lovely old inn. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the full breakfast and had dinner here both nights. Very close to the Beatrix Potter home which made visiting easy.”

“Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. This is in contrast to a number of occasions where I have experienced disappointment when staying at other hotels. The general amenity of the Gateway is extremely pleasant and the staff have managed a relaxing and comfortable public area.”
