âStayed at the Coat & Bear while visiting Highclere Castle. I had a room with 2 beds and it was very spacious. The staff was very nice and the food at the pub was delicious. The town of Newbury is very nice and walkable and the hotel is only about a 10-15 min walk to the Newbury train station. I would definitely stay here again. â
âThe hotel and its facilities are excellent and the staff were helpful and considerate throughout our stay. The room was clean and comfortable to stay in although it was a little warmer and stuffy at night. The air conditioning is a little noisy to leave when sleeping. Providing towelling robes was a nice touch but unfortunately both were a medium fit so although my partners fitted I being larger it was not suitable. Other than that we enjoyed our stay

âStaff were happy to deal with a couple of requests re changing the duvet and pillows to non feather/down filling and they had pre-installed a dog bed and bowl, which saved me another trip to the car thankfully.

âLarge, very clean room. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with great shower. Nice toilet products to use. Plentiful, tea, coffee and biscuits provided as well as a small fridge with bottled water.
Attractive restaurant with a good range of menu options. Ate there 2 nights and the food was very good. Some excellent desserts too!
Breakfast was also very good and flexible options.
All of the staff were very polite, helpful and always happy to offer advice on local area. Their breakfast...
