Large room with fridge & microwave. Clean& comfortable. Housekeeping never came to my room. I took towels to office. Emptied trash myself. Still way better than Hilton Del Mar.

Pros: very close to the del mar beach. Big condos. Helpful staff. They provide beach towels, which is a big plus. Cons: cleaning should be more regular. Currently they clean once a week.

Overall, a very nice stay at Wave Crest. It’s an older property that’s not a traditional hotel as there is no bar/restaurant or lobby area. The room was a decent size with a nice view of the ocean. There was a Murphy queen size bed which is a little odd. Plus there is no air conditioning. The weather was fine for the dates we stayed, but I could see it getting very warm during summer months. They have their own parking lot and the parking is free. Location is very good as it’s a stone throw away from the ocean and only 1-2 blocks from the main strip in Del Mar.

We did not have a direct view of the beach, we had a side view, but you still can not beat the area and ease of getting down to the beach. You only have to walk a short distance to get the view you desire. The pool was nice and has a wonderful view of the ocean. There is work being done on the railroad tracks but it did not bother us, it did obstruct the views from the lower units that would normally have a direct view of the ocean

Lovely place to stay, located in a great neighborhood. Quick 3 min stroll to the beach. Unit was extremely clean, came with everything one would need. Between the amenities and friendly onsite staff, we had a wonderful experience.

This was built in the 80s and they take extremely good care of the facility. They are in the process of update the units removing the old tile counter tops and replacing them with stone for example. My sister and brother in law were staying there when we were there and their unit had had a kitchen up date ours did not. But all in all you can’t beat the location so I’d recommend it to anyone who is going to Del Mar, CA.

Friendly and quick check-in process. Easy parking with great access to the park and beach. Clean rooms. Plenty of gear to borrow from the front desk. Quiet and unobstructive staff. Great ocean views from the pool.

these appear to be timeshares because eachunit has a kitchen living room area and bedroom which is much nicer than a normal Motel

The location can't be beat, especially for the price - it's about a five minute walk to the beach and an even shorter walk to the restaurants of downtown Del Mar. The sound of the waves crashing at the pool is so relaxing...if it isn't filled with a bunch of young kids. The Murphy bed was reasonably comfortable. There is no AC so we slept with all of the windows open, which meant we were woken up by the sound of delivery trucks backing up on some mornings (the nearby train was surprisingly quiet comparatively!) We look forward to staying here again soon.

A Happy Wife.

Booked for my wife's birthday. SHE LOVED IT. 2nd floor condo with full kitchen and a beautiful view of the ocean. The attached picture is the view from the pool on the property, got to see 2 beautiful sunsets. Large heated pool, 3 clean, large BBQ in the pool area. Very clean room and premises. An easy walk to the beach. Free parking. No issues at all. Will definitely stay again.

Best little secret in Del Mar..

We had an amazing stay. The location couldn't get any better. You have the beach and restaurants minutes away by foot. The property is well taken care of inside and out. Our studio had it all including a small kitchen. You can't go wrong booking here.

Friendly and helpful staff. Everything was sterilized and clean when we arrived including the dishes still in a hot dishwasher. Remotes in plastic cases. Only downside is no housekeeping but there is a vacuum and you can request towels, coffee, etc. from the front desk. Best access to the beach, park and restaurant.
