Weekend Getaway!

We spent the weekend here for our 20th Anniversary! I have to say, it was absolutely Beautiful!!! The house was great!! The AC was fantastic!! Bed was very comfortable!! We will definitely be back!!

Christmas vacation with hidden gems

The property suited our family wonderfully and we enjoyed discovering the hidden gems in the nearby town of Draper. The house its self could use a few updates and a bit more attention to detail. The burners didn't fit the stove top and the master bedroom door didn't latch. But there was nothing so off putting as to diminish the positives. This is perfect place to relax, whether that's sitting by the river, enjoying sunrises and sunsets on the porch, driving around back roads, shopping in the local stores, cooking or just lounging around the beautiful cabin.

Beautiful and relaxing place to stay

The location and house was great. Our family had a peaceful weekend with the only issue being that bat droppings were coming from the ceiling where bats apparently were nesting. There were no bats seen in the house and the host sent a maintenance person over to check it out when my son in law mentioned to a maintenance person working next door. We appreciated the prompt response but since we were leaving the next morning, we told them it was fine to wait to clean the ceiling (we swept it off the floor during our stay ) and hopefully they can get the bat problem taken care of soon. We still enjoyed our stay at the river.

Great House! FANTASTIC location

We had a wonderful stay for our family of 4. The kids very much enjoyed the big yard and the game room in the basement. There are also TONS of things to do in the area! Multiple wineries, a Safari Park, a State Park with a beach, Hiking, Kayaking, Canoeing. Lots of fishing, including right in your own back yard in the New River! The kids caught a few blue gill and even a small mouth bass! We would DEFINITELY come stay again, and even plan on renting a few houses for a group of families in the future. A+

Great place to stay!

Nice clean cabin, well taken care of. Loved the location but we need some help with the fishing :), maybe stock the River right before we come out(yes that is a joke), fish simply did not want to co-operate! Provided firewood was very much appreciated and the open space for the kids to play was fantastic. If I had to throw one thing out there, and it may just be personal taste, the beds were way too hard for me, I mean wow... maybe a mattress topper for those of us who like a little more cushion. Overall, we loved our time there and appreciate that the owners took the time to provide a clean, well appointed place. Would definitely go back!

Beautiful cabin on the river

We had a lovely, peaceful stay on the New River- we fished, hiked, enjoyed the game room and board games and had some lovely family time. Perfect place to get away, even on a chilly weekend in March!

Rural River Delight

A great place to spend a quiet time away from the pulls of technology and to focus on nature, friends and the things that bring tranquility and peace. It was clean and comfortable. A well-stocked kitchen, however, bring your own coffee and other condiments. Very quiet and peaceful. Wonderful place to enjoy friends and a bit of nature.

Easter Weekend

It was a great house. Perfect for our cadet who can only be within 50 mile radius of VT. Many games for our family to play and perfect space for our family of 6 to fit comfortably. We are going to try to stay here every time we visit our son. You can't beat the outside space. Very peaceful.

Never again

We got to the property there was paint cans and carpet or rug on the counter when we first got in the neighbors who owned their house let their daughter stay there and they brought dogs that kept coming over on our side and growling and barking at my kids they did it to me we thought we were going to get attacked I will never ever ever stay there again or anywhere with new river retreat I paid a bunch of money and didn’t get to enjoy myself next time we’ll just go to the beach

Perfect Getaway

Perfect weekend getaway! Location was amazing and the house was fully stocked with everything you would need. Enjoyed every night down by the river around the fire pit. Would highly recommend this house!!

Weekend Escape

Takoda was absolutely perfect for what we had in mind. We unplugged, celebrated a birthday, visited with my son who is at his 1st year of college, rocked on the porch, fished, had a fire. Loved every minute of it and hope to go again! Rhonda

Relaxing

Great house and location!! Only drawback is there is absolutely no cell service. Some cell services were able to make a phone call on the porch with one bar.

Almost perfect

Positives: Location, proximity to water, backyard, folded chairs to be taken to river, fire logs, books for kids Negatives: - Description says 'Hot Tub' which was not present - No balls for ping pong table, so count play - Air hocky table doesnt blow air, so coudnt play - No wifi or mobile network signal
