Edinburgh is the first UNESCO City of Literature. Explore Scotland's capital from this stylish apartment on Bank Street which is at the top of The Mound that connects the historic Old Town (Royal Mile) to the New Town at Princes Street.

Bank Street is a 2 bedroom, third floor (no lift) double glazed apartment situated just off the celebrated Royal Mile, this is a distinctive base from which to explore the magnificent city of Edinburgh. It is owned by Murray Bremner & Glenn Ford (The Principle) and managed by Edinburgh SC (Self Catering) Ltd on their behalf.

The surrounding area features a wealth of history; from the Royal Scottish Museum to St Giles Cathedral and, of course, Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. Furnished with a diverse selection of hand-picked furniture, this elegant apartment offers an enjoyable home from home in one of Europe's finest cities.

LOUNGE/KITCHEN ROOM
An extremely spacious and light room that will prove the centre-point for your stay. Two large comfortable sofas are provided to relax on and for entertainment there is a widescreen tv in this delightful, warm and open room. Guests with appropriate laptop facilities can enjoy broadband access through wi-fi.

The kitchen area is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric oven & hob, dishwasher, microwave oven, washer/dryer and cutlery & crockery. There is a breakfast bar with four stools for dining.

BEDROOM 1
Bedrooms contain a beautiful comfortable kingsize bed and is equipped to allow you to make the most of your stay, with ample storage space, mirrors and lighting. There is a wonderful view from the window of the HQ of the Bank of Scotland and to Carlton Hill and beyond to the River Forth.

BEDROOM 2
Bendroom two has fantastic super kingsize zip'n'link bed that can be split into two 3ft single beds. It has beautifully furnished with copious storage. This room also benefits from having an LCD TV with digital channels available. This room also has the wonderful view from the window of the HQ of the Bank of Scotland and to Carlton Hill and beyond to the River Forth.

BATHROOM
A good-sized designer bathroom with attractive fixtures, bath, walk-in power shower and heated towel rail complete this distinctive property.

* Strictly no parties - Guests must be quiet between 21:00 and 08:00 to respect neighbouring properties.

Access Arrangements

A "meet and greet" service is operated , whereby you will be met at a property at a pre-arranged time to give access. Full instructions of this procedure can be found in the secure guest area after a booking has been completed. It is very important that an approximate arrival time is provided before arrival for this process. Entry is from 14:00 onwards but if nobody has booked to depart on your day of arrival it will probably be very suitable for us to give you entry as early as possible. Departure is by 10am (a guaranteed late departure up to 20:00 can be obtained for 50% of that daily rate. Please contact us if you want to utilise this facility and a price will be calculated).

Please note that arrivals after 19:00 will incur a range of late arrival fee.

**LATE ARRIVAL: fees, 19:00 - 22:30 - 15 pounds, 22:31 - 00:00 - 30 pounds and 00:01 - 02:00 - 50 pounds. The latest access can be given is 02:00, otherwise it is given at 08:00 the next day. ESC accept no liability for any costs involved in alternative accommodation for this 6 hour period.

A deposit of 25% is payable on booking and the outstanding balance of the rental price must be received 2 months prior to your arrival date. For bookings made less than eight weeks before your arrival date the whole rental price falls payable at the time of booking. Please note that a separate 200 pounds refundable key/security deposit must be provided prior to arrival which is rescinded 2 days after departure.

There are three options to get from Edinburgh airport to the city centre, all take approx 30-35 minutes. The main rail station Waverley is approx 250 metres from the apt.

1. Edinburgh trams, approx every 8-10 mins (Sunday 12-15 mins), right outside terminal, the nearest drop off point for the apt is the Princes St stop which is approx 350 metres away. Cost 8.50 pounds for adults and 4.50 pounds for children for a RETURN journey.

2. Airport express bus, every 15 minutes right outside terminal building, drop off point on Waverley Bridge approx 250 metres from apt. Costs approx 8.50 pounds per person for a RETURN journey.

3. Taxi, many can be found right outside the terminal building and will cost 30 - 40 pounds for a one way journey. However a taxi will drop you off right outside the property you have booked.

A near perfect vacation! Yes there really are 68 steps, but was not an issue. A small price to pay for this super clean apartment, this location, and this group of people to work with! Every question was handled perfectly. They went far above and beyond in helping us get the most out of our week in Edinburgh. Apartment was very comfortable and clean. Location is near perfect. Will definitely stay here again on next visit!!

This apartment is in a great location for exploring old town. Beware there are stairs!! The queen bed was great, the king bed was terrible - hard as a rock.

Great location. Lots of stairs, lol. The property is clean and has everything needed. The only downside is the bed in the large room is horrible. The mattresses are old and you can feel the springs. They slope to each side and the middle has a ridge from the beds coming together.

A nice place, but there are some issues

Tips:- You will have to walk up a lot of stairs. Do not underestimate this.- There is nowhere to park a car anywhere nearby. Forget about having a car in Edinburgh. Rent one from the airport when you leave.- If you're coming from the airport, you can take the bus to get here pretty easily but then I highly recommend you take an Uber the quarter mile thereafter to the building. I know it doesn't sound like very far but there is quite the stairway between you and the building. do You won't enjoy the stairway while carrying luggage.The flat itself is quite nice. Probably the nicest place I stayed while in Scotland. A little instruction on how to use the heating and cooling would have been nice for foreigners. While the stairs to get to the unit are a negative, if staying somewhere else you're going to walk a long distance to get to the same area. And this building is very well located to see many sites in Edinburgh. Overall, the hurdles are worth it because of the location of this unit and the unit itself is very high-quality once inside.

Wonderful accommodation for a family vacation

We stayed in Edinburgh for four nights of our travels to Scotland on our family vacation. The staff were very helpful, check in was smooth, and the accommodations were beautiful. It’s even more beautiful and spacious than in the pictures. The location was amazing, within steps to everything we wanted to visit (and beautiful views from the apartment itself overlooking the royal mile). Would highly highly recommend

Perfect Place

The apartment was lovely clean and cozy. Very close to all attractions. Great restaurants near by. Just be prepared to walk 4 flights of stairs no elevator. Not a deal breaker for us.

Perfect location. Attractions, restaurants & transportation in close proximity Rental exactly as pictured. Very clean. Nice views of Edinburgh from rental. Beware - 68 steps (yes we counted) - no elevator - had no issues - but others might.

Great apartment!

This apartment is so convenient to EVERYTHING! Beds were very comfortable. Communication with host was fantastic. We had an issue with our train from London being delayed 5 hours. I called host and he was AMAZING! Just told me to keep in contact with him, and he was waiting for us at 10pm at night with a smile. He also carried both our bags up the three flights of stairs for us. Much appreciated after 24 hours of travel. The apartment is steps from the castle, Royal mile and plenty of restaurants. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great Location! Great Flat! Lots of Stairs

You can't get a better location in Old Town Edinburgh than this! You step out your front door and are almost on the Royal Mile, you are minutes away from Edinburgh castle, you are right above one of the best restaurants in the area, and a short walk from an overnight parking (at the Radisson Blu). The flat itself was wonderful as well. Nice big bedrooms with comfortable beds, a full kitchen, and good space for winding down as a group in the living room. One thing that I don't remember reading is that it is on the third floor of the building. That was totally fine for me and my group, but if you have someone in your group who has trouble with stairs or are bringing lots of heavy luggage, be prepared. Overall, we were really happy with this location as our home base for our stay in Edinburgh.

Great location but noisy

Great location in the middle of shops, restaurants and activities. Flat comfortable and nicely decorated to give a homey feel. Due to the location being by a Main Street, we could not keep the windows open at night. It would help if they provided fans to either help cool the rooms at night and provide some white noise. Only complaint was that the bedding for the two twin beds was too small. When we asked for larger covers we had to pay a 20£ up charge but according to our kids, it was worth the extra cost.
