Welcome to funky Leucadia, where old North County character meets new energy. the Leucadia Place is a little bit of both—a charming, updated 1927 two-bedroom, two-bath home perched on the hillside with views toward the Pacific.

There’s no A/C, but coastal breezes keep things fresh and comfortable, and the west-facing location delivers some pretty amazing sunsets.

The Place

the Leucadia Place is best suited for a couple, a couple with one or two children, or a couple traveling with a friend. Please read the full description and sleeping arrangements to make sure the home is a good fit for your stay.

The primary bedroom has a comfortable, firm queen bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a twin trundle bed with a second firm twin underneath. A second full bathroom is located off the hallway.

The home is fully furnished and includes a well-stocked kitchen, full laundry, and hypoallergenic body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.

Two outdoor decks are perfect for afternoon lunches, evening drinks, and watching the sun disappear over the Pacific.

Pet Friendly — Really Pet Friendly

One of the things that makes the Leucadia Place a little different is that dogs and cats are welcome, with no size restrictions.

Please pay the applicable pet fee and let me know in advance so I can prepare for your furry friend(s). Accidents happen—even the occasional chewed or damaged item. If something does happen, just be upfront about it and be prepared to cover reasonable repair or replacement costs.

The property sits on a larger lot with a somewhat rural feel, so skunks, opossums, and raccoons occasionally make appearances. Please keep that in mind when letting pets outside, particularly at night.

Location

the Leucadia Place is west of Interstate 5 and east of Coast Highway, tucked into the hillside overlooking the ocean. It's a great home base for a weekend getaway, longer coastal stay, or seasonal Del Mar track rental.

The Del Mar Racetrack is only about 8 miles south—typically 10–15 minutes depending on traffic. If you're interested in the home for the 2026 track season, please reach out. Some dates may appear blocked specifically to preserve availability for longer track-season stays.

You'll also be within easy reach of Torrey Pines Golf Course and Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.

A Home Instead of a Hotel

Why spend your stay dealing with hotel parking fees, resort fees, elevators, and crowded common areas when you can have your own little home?

There are no parking fees, no resort fees, and no waiting in lines—plus plenty of room for two cars behind the property's electric gate.

The owner lives locally and is available if something comes up during your stay. Weekly or bi-weekly cleaning can also be arranged upon request.

Don't Be Afraid to Ask About Dates

If part of your trip appears unavailable, please ask. I travel frequently and intentionally leave some time between guests to make sure the house is properly prepared for each arrival. As a result, dates that appear blocked on the calendar may sometimes be available.
