This rental is not a good value for a VRBO. There is no microwave, the room is very neglected by the resort, and not enough towels for the stay with no way to launder them. They charge for additional towels each day. By the time, they nickel and dime you, you could have easily paid for the full service room through the hotel. The beach access is great and one of the only perks with this VRBO.

The view from the room was beautiful, the beds were comfortable. The unit could use some updating. This is in a resort, and there was only one elevator operating for 2 or 3 days of our stay, during Valentine’s Day/ President’s Day Weekend. We did lots of stairs and lots of waiting. The front desk told us there was a shuttle available,but no one ever responded to our texts. The hotel is also responsible for cleaning the unit, which was poorly done. Definitely needed an exterminating treatment as well. There is an individual cup coffee maker in the room, and a mini refrigerator. Overall, it was adequate, but I would not go back.

The Pelican Grand was definitely Grand! The facilities are well maintained and beautiful. The staff were all well trained, supportive and friendly. We greatly appreciated the beach staff who assured we were well hydrated! Will stay here again!

I love this place and will stay there again. The floating river was closed again but that was not a big deal for us. there was only 2 rolls of toilet paper in the room and we did not see housekeeping so, we ordered some for delivery. Could not possibly complain. The place is beautiful, staff is friendly and views are incredible. This was my second stay and I will be back.

Wonderful place and experience! Wish we had known about the 65 a day for valet parking when it’s the only option but that would be the only negative thing I can say about this place! It was perfect for our 20yr wedding anniversary trip!

We’ve been vacationing at The Pelican for 6 or 7 years now. We have always stayed with the hotel, but decided to try a VRBO. Property had pictures and wording that stated that they had things that they did not have (i.e. Microwave, blender). It looks as though owner has now updated the listing to be more accurate since our stay. My daughter has food allergies and we have to travel with her foods, so we were counting on the microwave. It took them 15 hours to respond to my message. I was then told that they can’t have microwaves due to it being a fire hazard and was directed to take it to the front desk, whom in turn told me that they couldn’t do anything for me because we were in a VRBO. The bathroom and shower were not up to cleanliness standards. I had to clean the counters and clean quite a bit of sand out of the shower floor before we could use it. The hotel staff was wonderful! The beds in the room were extremely comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Pelican Grand. The service was absolutely amazing—every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The views from our room were beautiful, and the resort itself has so much charm and character. The food was expensive, as you’d expect at a resort, so I recommend bringing snacks, water bottles, etc. for your room to avoid paying $4–$10 for water. With a few updates to the property, it could be even more outstanding. Adding walking platforms on the beach would also make access much easier. Overall, we loved our experience and would definitely return! Make sure to find John on the beach for spectacular service.

Pre-Cruise Beach Stay

The property is nice. Our room was lovely with lots of space for 3 people. I loved the lazy River and having beach chairs with umbrellas. I thought the cocktails were overpriced with the added 20% gratuity and servers expecting an additional tip (since added gratuity was shared). One daiquiri cost 21. Our room was also not ready at check-in time. However, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
