Long weekend

The home was spacious. Lots of kid friendly items, 2 pack and play cribs, high chair, booster seat and kids tableware. The only thing I did not like was no window treatments on the main floor.

A good stay with a few difficulties

This house is beautiful! We enjoyed staying here. But there were a few difficulties we ran into. We had 5 vehicles and a boat, and not all of them fit for parking. You cannot park on the street, and when we parked in the field you get in trouble. We had the HOA at the front door within minutes of parking. The side is too narrow to fit a boat on without going on the dirt. There is overflow parking, but it was always full. There was a bad bug problem. When we arrived there were gnats all over the ceiling in the living room and kitchen. We had to get through vacuum out and vacuum them down multiple times a day, each time taking quite a bit of time. We also killed 5 hobos in the basement, and there were earwigs on all levels of the home. When the AC stopped working the host was kind and helped us quickly. We appreciated the host and their quick responsiveness. There are very few kitchen items, no crock pot, blender, and minimal spices. There were also very few blankets throughout the house. The WiFi was not very good, I assume for how large the house was. We couldn’t ever get the downstairs tv to connect to the WiFi. The beds were ok, they seemed relatively cheap. Overall, a great stay with a few problems some bigger than others.

A Combination of Beauty with Some Challenges

Our stay at the Bear Lake rental came with a mix of beauty and challenges. While the house itself is lovely, our experience was marred by several issues. When we arrived at 4:00 pm, the cleaners were still diligently working and continued for another hour and a half after our rental time began. This was particularly difficult as we had three infants with us. Additionally, the bunk beds upstairs were not made, with sheets and bedspreads folded at the end of the beds, laundry still to be completed, garbage in the garage, popcorn in the couch, and etc. The Wi-Fi never worked during our stay, which also affected the thermostats. A message from the owner, sent while we were out the day before departure, asked if the internet provider could come to repair the issue. Unfortunately, we didn't see this message until the day of our departure. The owner suggested we needed to be more patient due to miscommunication with the cleaners and mentioned he could have stayed to finish washing the towels, which would have delayed him by three to four more hours—an impractical solution with our entire family present. Though the home is beautiful, the multiple challenges we faced and the lack of initial compensation offered made our stay less enjoyable. The owner eventually considered compensation after I raised these concerns.

Bear lake trip 2024

This home was perfect for my family! We very comfortably fit 13 adults and 11 kids in the home without feeling cramped. Our favorite amenities included the large kitchen/dining space as well as the outdoor seating area. It was nice to have 2 living rooms to separate kids from adults at times, and we really appreciated the small touches put in place - lots of towels, makeup specific towels, lots of plugs for chargers, LOTS of parking, simple but homey decorations ect. Our most favorite part of this home is the location! It is located right in garden city basically walking distance from the main grocery store and maybe a 1-2 minute drive to all the fun ice cream shops/food. It was nice to be able to have the pool as an option too with all the kids we had. We spent most of our time on the North shore boating and paddle boarding and the home is only about 20 minutes from there. Over all, would love to stay there again!
