“Lovely hotel up in Gora. Stayed for two nights as a relaxed stop between Tokyo and Kyoto which it was perfect for. Two nights is enough to see the major sights around Gora such as the Open Air Museum, the sulfuric volcano vents and Fuji. The room was traditional and neatly kept. Breakfast was good albeit a bit for or western tastebuds. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant so can't say how it was. Very convenient that the hotel is next to the train and cablecar station.”

“As a first time experience at an Onsen, it sure was a treat. A very nice and cozy place, with a helpful staff and great amenities. A bit hard to find at first (a single door at the end of a parking lot), but once you find your way it is a great little place for relaxation and Onsen baths. The spacey lounge (where you eat and socialize) was really beautiful and tastefully decorated, and also housed a fully equipped kitchen where you could cook your own food. “I stayed at 5 different accommodations during my visit to Japan, and Ryokan Plum was by far my favourite - it was a shame that I could only stay for one night! I stayed in the traditional tatami room, which exceeded all of my expectations. It was beautiful! The host (I forget her name) who greeted me upon my arrival was very kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend Ryokan Plum to anyone visiting the Hakone/Odawara area. ”

“Family of four (with 8yo twins) stayed here in November 2025. It's a beautiful inn, comfortable and clean and quiet, with friendly staff and good food for breakfast and dinner. The bath is lovely -- staff help you book a time in the evening at check in, and it's available on a first come first served basis in the morning.
