“Very nice hotel with a great rooftop bar, a nice little gym, and excellent and attentive service by everyone. Rooms are on the smaller side, even with upgrade, but they are nicely furnished. The bathrobes were torn, and we had to ask for slippers. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed our stay! Definitely one of the top hotels in downtown LA.”

Omständliga rutiner med ett procentuellt pålägg på sluträkningen. Onödigt om man inte vill utnyttja det som ingår i tillägget ex museibesök, rabatt på hotellrestaurang, vatten på rummet, shuttleservice. ”

“Very friendly staff in the reception and security very polite and always greeted you with respect. Room clean and fully equipped like refrigirator and coffemaker. Maybe room somewhat not updated but alright. I stayed for a full week and was very pleased. ”
“Really nice hotel but can’t really see why anyone would like to stay in this part of LA unless your doing business in downtown or have friends to visit there like I had. Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents....

Delayed checkin, extremely low bed, poor sound isolation and a noisy rooftop bar, my room was never cleaned in 4 days, got stuck in the elevator and the second elevator was broken "

"Let’s start with the good: the staff were always friendly. Check-in was smooth, and we could go straight to the room thanks to the Sonder app.
Now for the bad. On our first morning, we discovered that the toaster basically caused a fire—it completely incinerated the bread due to a malfunction. When we later tried to heat up a store-bought pizza, the oven didn’t work either. I reported the issue, and they said a technician would come by, but no one showed up. The following day, a technician finally arrived and said the oven needed to be replaced. I naively assumed it would be done quickly. But throughout our entire 6-night stay, nothing was done about the toaster or oven.
As a result, we had to throw out food we had planned to cook—worth around $65. Not a single apology or compensation from Sonder Marriott.
The area was loud and felt unsafe. Luckily, we had a room on the 11th floor; otherwise, we wouldn’t have gotten a wink of sleep. I do not recommend Sonder The Craftsman—paying guests are treated with total disregard and an uncaring attitude.

Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and don’t look down into your phone.
Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building won’t give so much skyview at all in downtown LA.
Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought that’s just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb!
So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!).
The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect.
So this hotel can’t do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management.
