Beautiful vacation!
Very nice place to stay. Beautiful sunsets and view from the Lanais. Close to Kailua Kona. Great place to relax and cool down after long days at the beach. Beds are comfortable and clean. Beach equipment and a washer and dryer were helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect stay
Pictures don’t do it justice- this house is stunning inside and out- The everyday sunset is magical- my teenage girls had an opportunity to take amazing portraits…. The neighborhood gave my husband and I an opportunity to do our morning hikes every day. Great place to stay. Close enough to it all but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet.

This place was great for 2 people. Well situated between most places we wanted to go in Kona, close to shopping if needed. Would highly recommend. Would recommend some privacy shades over the sliding glass windows along the deck if possible in the future. Definitely check this place out.

Absolutely love!
This was one of the best homes we have stayed at on vacation! So clean and in a great location for everything. The views were stunning and so relaxing to sit out on the deck and soak up the sounds and views of the island. They had everything we needed in the home and for the beach! Highly recommend and hope to return when we get back the big island!

Lovely View
The location was great for our stay on HI with easy access to the beaches, Costco, 15 minutes to Makani Golf course and the the airport. The home was spacious with comfortable beds and the lanai was a great place to unwind and enjoy the sunset. We liked being up in elevation which provided cool nights for sleeping. A big thank you to Laura, Martha and Kona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Don’t miss out on this one!
It was great. Host thought of everything. Toilet was clogged, host had it fixed within hours. They even offered us a full refund when the three guests above us were stomping and keeping us awake. Super clean, even by my high standards. Great location. Fantastic view. So comfortable. Literally perfect. Don’t miss out.

Restful getaway
We don’t like resorts and getting away from the business of Kona and Waikaloa we’re important for us. This location was convenient and the views were great. At first we were concerned about no a/c but after a couple of hours with all of the windows open it was fine. The neighborhood is quiet except for the roosters which we loved!

The perfect place
So clean! Cool breeze was perfect. The views are even better in person with all those sliding doors. Can’t beat sitting on a porch swing watching the sun go down over the water. Owner took extra good care of us by delivering a blender to our door. So awesome.

Beautiful home with a view
The apartment looked just like the pictures, very modern and comfortable. It's a bit of a drive to Kailua-Kona (especially at night, the roads are very dark), but it was a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

Concerning camera pointing into living room
Bad news: There is a camera on the deck that points directly into the living room. When we asked if it could see into the house, the host offered to turn it off. So I guess that is a "yes." I believe this is illegal under HI law and also unethical. VRBO policy says it is ok to have external cameras -- but I don't think that means pointing into the house. The camera also seemed to go back on if we got near it. There were other options so that the camera would not have been looking into the living room. The flat was beautifully remodeled and view was nice. Location 10-15 minutes from town was a bit of a pain.

As we mentioned when you and you husband reached out to us about the cameras, they are only there to monitor the exterior entrances to the home for the safety of our guests and property. There is no monitoring of the interior of the home whatsoever. To put you even more at ease, we let you know that we would be willing to turn them off during your time with us, which we happily did. You were the first guest to ever feel that the direction of the cameras were of concern, but we valued your opinion and turned off the exterior monitoring of the property to make you feel more comfortable. Kona Stay
This has to be one of the best locations on the Big Island. Particularly if you want an authentic Hawaiian experience. The property is nestled above and has wonderful views. It is clean and updated to feel like a home away from home. We were able to travel down to enjoy what the Big Island has to offer, beaches, mountains, and great people. Speaking of people, Maggie our host was extremely helpful in how she greeted us prior to our stay and throughout our journey Hawaii. We had a bit of a delay with our flights, she assured us the home would be there waiting our arrival. She helped relieve the stress of travel with her kind words. I would definitely stay here again and have found that our love for the islands is because of the people. Great stay and great property!

Laura’s place made my first experience in Kona one of my best trips!
This place is amazing, clean and brand new And the VIEW, I was astonished. Couldn’t get enough of it. The porch is a must !!!! This place had everything I needed and more. Laura is an awesome host , helped me with everything. This is definitely the place I will be staying every time I come to Kona.

This home is clean, nice and new. The view is amazing, the neighbors are nice. There’s a great local grocery store nearby that has all you need, and the house has supplies like beach chairs, boogie boards, masks and snorkels.

Beautiful and peaceful
This house is updated and clean. The patio over looks the ocean and is the reason we chose this location. The only negative is that the house is 15-20 minute drive from anywhere. Would stay here again!

Oooh....That Lanai!
Up above Kona with a killer view - our group of four really made use of the lanai every evening after a day of play around this side of the Big Island. This home is fresh off a remodel with comfortable beds and bath, with quality touches from the shampoo to the lap blankets. A minor inconvenience was addressed by the owner who was quickly responsive by text. Would stay again here without any hesitation!

Kona Hale…Stunning View and Peaceful Paradise
Kona Hale is exactly as Laura has described and pictured. Clean, comfortable, modern, updated and well appointed just begins to describe this wonderful place. Located in a friendly hillside neighborhood, facing west, the views are stunning! The lanai is awesome, really surreal with a breeze blowing you overlook tree tops down the hill way over the airport to the Pacific Ocean. Sunsets never disappointed us. Centrally located provided easy access to anywhere on the island. Laura is a great host! Don’t hesitate if her place is available.

Spacious, great view!

Place with a view
Nice view of the valley and ocean below. Clean and well kept. Could use a few more towels and a BBQ grill and the local TV stations. We didn’t realize we were on the lower level of the home with another rental place above us.

The house had many conveniences. And lots of space to spread out. The views were lovely of treetops and the ocean. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of warm water for bathing. We loved it there!

Nice retreat
Our family of three stayed two nights at this cozy retreat. We stayed on the second level of the house with the beautiful large terrace and views off the ocean. The apartment is large and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked. The area is close to the airport, ocean and Kona town. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Nice place, but listing needs to be updated
Overall, a nice place to stay. It's about 20 min from Kona, and at least 15 min to the beach (not walkable). Listing and photos both include a pool/air hockey table, but there was no such table. Long term tenants live downstairs and are very nice, but you need to keep in mind this is a shared property. Lanai was lovely though and the views were great. Kitchen had dirty dishes and pans and was missing some utensils and accessories. Dishwasher and appliances work well, and the bedrooms/bathrooms were nice and tidy. I'd say an update to the listing and new photos would help better represent the property. Had a great time though and with minor fixes/updates this place could be even better.

Please know that I have addressed the issue of the dish my cleaner left soaking in a pan in the kitchen sink, a previous guest broke the pool table so I had it removed, so I have removed it from my listing, and I will be updating my listing in January with new photos. Comfortable, lovely home
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home, located in the lush upcountry above Kailua-Kona. Because of it's higher elevation, the temperature was much cooler than the lowlands, and downright chilly in the morning! (We visited in late Oct. Some space heaters would've been greatly appreciated! ) The neighborhood was fairly quiet, and located about 15-20 min. drive from local shopping and no more than 40 min. from the best beaches. We found plenty of beach equipment in the laundry room, which we made good use of. The house itself was sparkling clean and the kitchen was well-equipped, which is very important to us as we like to cook a lot of our meals on vacation to save money. The only real serious issue was the broken dishwasher, which was filled with stagnant water that smelled horrible! To be fair to Laura the owner, she had no idea that the prior guest had tried to run the washer and, when it didn't drain, just left it as is. We were afraid at first that we'd have to leave and find a new place, but in the end, we decided to bail out the water and clean the interior. It worked, thank goodness and we were able to stay. Laura was very apologetic and we were appreciative of her offer to refund our money. I'm so glad it worked out for all of us! We loved watching the sunsets on the lanai, and we counted 3 house geckos, which we thought were so cute! We'd definitely stay here again.

Good treehouse vibe
Overall good but dishwasher was stinky and leaked out onto the floor so we couldn't wash dishes or rinse anything in the kitchen. We enjoyed the birds and sound of the frogs all night long. The ocean view was a spectacular, panoramic view!

Please know that when the next Guest informed us about the issue we immediately called a Plumber to fix the problem with the (new) Dishwasher. In my Welcome Letter I encourage Guests to call or text me at any time of the day or night if any issues should arise and/or if they have any questions.

Breathe taking view

Very Pleased with our Kona Home Away from Home
The pictures in the listing are very accurate and the home is well appointed and clean. We loved sitting on the swing on the lanai overlooking lush greenery with the ocean out in the distance, hearing the birds and the frogs (I know they are an import and a problem but I do love the sound at night). It was great to have towels and an ice chest ready so that we could just load and go. We like being up and away from the tourist areas. Everything you need or want is close enough from the property anyway - it’s not that large of an island after all. Laura was responsive and friendly. All in all I highly recommend this property.

Restful getaway with sunset views!
My family and I (partner and two boys) stayed here for a week and found it to be extremely restful. The place was exactly as stated with a large patio overlooking the ocean and great sunset views every evening! Place includes everything you need and more. We were able to use boogie boards, snorkels, and chairs for the beach. We added to the beach gear for those coming next. The owners were prompt with any questions and would highly recommend staying here...we loved it!!!

Sounds of the Rainforest

Great view. Great porch. Good kitchen. Nice bathrooms. TV is roku, so you have to provide your own sources, but the roku would time out with the wifi on the 3 sources (Paramount+, Netflix, and Prime) we tried. Got the host to reset the wifi router; helped with laptop dropping wifi connections, but tv still wasn't usable.

Great view!
I used it as a location to see the whole island. We ventured every direction during our stay. Rental car is required since the location is up the hill. Took a couple days to get used to no air conditioning. The breeze at night was very comfortable for sleeping. Easy to fly into town for dinner. A small store about 1.5 miles away was useful for snacks and hot lunches to take on the road.

Amazing patio and view!
The reviews for this property are 100%. It was a little hard to find, but everything was great after that. The house is very clean and offers everything you need, however the best part by far is the large patio and amazing view. We stayed on the patio the entire time - eating, hanging out, watching the sunset, and even doing yoga with the nice breeze. We definitely want to visit again :)
