Disappointing Stay â Would Not Recommend Without AC
We stayed at this home in Kona for 7 nights, and unfortunately, it was a very uncomfortable experience for my family and me. Every night, we had to deal with gnats, bugs, flies, and mosquitoes throughout the house, especially in the evenings. We all ended up with numerous mosquito bites, whether we were on the balcony, by the pool, or even inside the house. We have vacuumed every day to get rid of these dying gnats.One of the biggest issues was the lack of air conditioning. During the hot days, we had no choice but to open the sliding doors to let in some breeze, but that only made the bug problem worse. The house is not well-sealed, and we were constantly battling flies and mosquitoes.The home is minimally stocked with only the most basic essentials. The personal care items provided were of very low qualityâshampoo, conditioner, and body wash were unscented and felt cheap. We also couldn't find common household items like disinfecting wipes or plastic wrap for food. The kitchen supplies were outdated, and all the knives were old and scratched.This was our first visit to Hawaii, and unfortunately, no AC really impacted our enjoyment. Some days we were out exploring, and coming back to a hot, stuffy house with no relief was exhausting, especially for the kids.If you're planning to stay in this area, I strongly recommend choosing a place with air conditioning. It can make a huge difference in your comfort and overall vacation experience.
