We have stayed at Kiahuna Plantation 9 times in 9 different units. This unit had a great view & location, but also had the most issues. We had problems getting more than 1 room key: it took almost 2 days to work that out. Very confusing, lots of different people involved, and I ended up being stuck waiting around at the unit for people supposedly arriving to drop off keys or fix lock. Several keys didn't work, I was asked to throw away keys that didn't work, then NO don't throw away keys, security guy came to clean & test lock and keys (took 2 visits), had a guy show up with another key from rental company and security guy was wondering who he was and where he got another key from (I didn't know). After it was all fixed I still couldn't tell you how many different keys we ended up trying... at least 7 or 8 keys and at least 6 people involved I believe.
The room was typical of most of the other rooms, but the carpet was older and had obvious stains. 1 of the 2 sliding doors for the bedroom was jammed inside its wall opening and wouldn't come out, so only had 1 door to get privacy.
The right side sliding screen door to the deck was very sticky and felt like it was going to break, so we just used the left side screen door. The bathtub old & stained and the shower mechanism produced a VERY loud humming/vibration in the medium setting, so had to play with that every time.
The ceiling fan in the bedroom got into bad rhythms and would sound like a loud train clicking down the tracks, so it wasn't very useable. There were 2 other fans in that room so we got by.
The main TV was so small too - maybe 24"? It was located at the top of the wall in a corner on opposite side of room from the sofa and chairs. We didn't go to Poipu to watch TV, but we did have plans to watch some Netflix or Prime shows a few times. It was virtually impossible to see the little TV so far away so we slid the sofa bed and chairs to the middle of the room each time (the sofa bed is quite heavy FYI). I actually had my binoculars out to watch TV at one point!
But the most frustrating thing was the small fridge. Our trip to Cotsco had to be cut back on supplies because the fridge was so small - very frustrating for the whole 2 weeks. We had to shop more frequently and buy smaller sizes, but it cost more to do that and we weren't happy about all that.
I know that's a lot of complaining, but bottom line is it could use some repairs and a couple upgrades: fridge/TV.
