Church across the green The central green in Casnewydd Bach/Little Newcastle was the site of the 'new' Norman castle or motte, succeeding an earlier one close by. All trace of it has long disappeared leaving just an attractive open space as a feature of this typical Landsker village.

Footbridge over the Afon Anghof This bridge, just a few yards upstream from the road bridge, appears to have served those who travelled by foot to and from the Puncheston road east of Little Newcastle, in all likelihood chapel-goers at Beulah.

Stayed in apartment 5 ‘The Firs’, thoroughly happy with the amenities, space (it’s big!) and quiet location. Plenty of space to relax for the family and a dog. Good location to explore, Pembroke walkable and local beaches a short drive away. Would stay again for sure. Communications excellent

Skinner is a great place for bird watching. The number of daily visitors is limited to protect the environment, so it's not always possible to get there. On Monday late June we recorded 36 species.

The approach to Treffgarne Gorge. Near Treffgarne, the birthplace of Welsh hero Owain Glyndwr, south of Wolf's Castle, the western branch of the River Cleddau cuts its way through a narrow gorge which it shares with both the A40 road and the railway from Fishguard. Above them all are the ruins of Maiden Castle.
