L'aqueduc gallo-romain de Luynes. 47°23'51"N 0°34'07"E L'aqueduc est le seul vestige de l'antique cité de Malliacum. Alimenté par la source dite de La Pinnoire, l'édifice, dont il ne subsiste que 44 piles sur 90 au total, est construit sur un mur continu. La hauteur moyenne des piles est de 8,90 m de la base à la clef ; celles-ci sont en petit appareil sans chaînage de briques (opus incertum). L'intérieur est constitué par un blocage en béton, mortier et pierres ; dans les cintres sont disposées des briques plates et rougeâtres de 32 cm de long, 22 cm de large et 3 cm d'épaisseur. L'édifice aboutit au lieu-dit le Prieuré de Saint-Venant. Un mur subsiste à proximité, pouvant faire penser à des vestiges de thermes. La pente moyenne est de 1,64 m par km, la longueur de l'édifice étant de 1 825 m. (Michel laurencin, in Revue archéologique du Centre de la France. Fed by the source called The Pinnoire the edifice which there remain only 44 batteries 90 in total, is built on a continuous wall. The average stack height is 8.90 m from the base key, these are small device without chaining bricks (crazy paving). The interior is is a blockage in concrete, mortar and stones in the arches are arranged in flat and reddish brick 32 cm long, 22 cm wide and 3 cm thick. The edifice ends at a place called the Priory of Saint-Venant. Wall remains nearby, can make you think has the remains of baths. The average slope is 1.64 m per km, the length of the edifice being 1 825 m.
Les halles. Les halles furent probablement bâtie au XVe siècle en même temps que l'agrandissement de l'église. La travée ouest fut détruite en 1913 ainsi que le local attenant qui servait de palais de justice. The covered market. The covered market were probably built in the fifteenth century at the same time as the expansion of the church. The westbound bridge was destroyed in 1913 and the adjoining room, which served as the courthouse.

This time the Hotel.com's description was correct. We vas happy to stay in this wonderful appartment. The short trip over street to shopping center and restaurants gave us a fantastic stay in Tours.

Good!
No cleaning at all during our stay (four nights). Nothing to hang towels on in the bathroom. Otherwise a nice hotel rather close to city with nice restaurants.
