We booked this Madrid apartment based on its high ratings and expected a clean, comfortable, well-maintained property. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different.
The apartment was old, neglected, and in poor condition. The biggest issue was the air conditioning — only 2 of the 5 units partially worked, making the stay uncomfortable, especially during warm weather.
The condition was unacceptable for a premium-priced rental. There were damaged doors with holes, peeling paint, broken fixtures, chipped trim, and signs of years of poor maintenance. The entrance and building itself were also old and poorly maintained, nothing like expected from the listing.
The bathrooms were especially concerning, with visible mold, water damage, peeling walls, and deteriorating materials. One vanity was falling apart with exposed damaged wood, which felt unsanitary.
One shower was strangely located at the end of a hallway rather than inside a proper private bathroom. It was visible to anyone passing by, and the only privacy was an accordion-style sliding door that did not function correctly.
Throughout the apartment there were scratches, holes, poor repairs, and clear signs of neglect. Small imperfections are understandable, but not at this price level. For €2,708 for only five nights, we expected a quality apartment, not a property needing major repairs.
The photos and rating were misleading compared to the actual condition. We would not stay here again and would not recommend.
