Brand new recently refurbished hotel. Rooms were lovely, clean, modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. The TV in the room was recessed in an alcove and could only be viewed by lying on the right side of the bed. There were no chairs.
The food offered was limited and mediocre at best - however the average cost for a main meal on the menu was around £30 - way too much even for a generous business allowance. The complementary breakfast however was delicious and would be hard to beat.
The staff were plentiful (if not too plentiful) albeit a little snobby. The barman served me a large glass of wine only to remark that clientele visiting the hotel don;t drink large glasses of wine so he would have to charge me for two small - another £10 out of the wallet for that!
I ate in the bar, walked to the bar for my drink, ordered my meal by walking over to the waitress service station yet I was still charged a very generous service charge on top of the already ludicrous cost for food.
Lovely hotel, spoilt by trying to being a bit "too posh", menu needs bulking out a bit and prices reducing.
I doubt I'll go back even though I had a great nights sleep.
