Great place for a Girls Trip
We had 4 women in our group and we all loved the cabin. Very private and had everything we needed. The owner was very easy to deal with and was great to communicate with. We will definitely be back.

Great "nest" in the woods!
The house was perfect for our vacation. It was clean and well stocked. It was really cold outside and the hot tub was amazing! We built a fire in the fire ring and roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. I didn't make it down to the creek but my son and granddaughter did and they loved it. It couldn't have been any better. We loved the location too.

Perfect getaway!!
My husband and I were looking for a quick last minute weekend getaway, and we hit the jackpot! If you are looking for somewhere that is secluded without the crowds, I highly recommend this place. As advertised, we did not have cell phone signal but the wifi worked very well for us and we were able to stay in contact with family when needed. This offered me great peace of mind because we could check in with our children often, and we were able to relax and enjoy a stress free weekend together. I hope we are able to come back again!

Best rental Ever
My wife and I have rented cabins in the mountains of North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama for years. This is best cabin we have experienced since we started "cabining ". It truly felt like home. We highly recommend these accommodations. And don't forget the fishing pole.

The property was just as listed and came w/ everything one would need to feel at home. The scenery/woods was a nice hidaway from the busy everyday life. The pond is secluded and nice for sunrises/sets and fishing. Tons of turtles 🐢 Could not have aaked for more and we thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing Weekend
Me and my boyfriend came to Hawks Nest to celebrate my birthday and Fathers Day. The pics on the website does not do this gem any justice! The place was spotless and very well stocked. I brought so many spices, utensils, towels etc thinking we would need them and didnt need any of them. The peace and quiet we got this weekend was something we hadn't had in forever living in Atlanta. It was absolutely amazing. We made good use of the hot tub and the grill. Oh and of course we had our daily visits from Yoki the pup. If I had to say one negative thing,(Michelle still had no control over) While cooking on the grill I got ate up by mosquitoes. :) All in all it was amazing. We will definiately be back!

What a great little hideaway!
A great little place that offered a full kitchen. It was clean and nicely decorated. The outside has multiple different areas to congregate and has little touches here and there to keep your interest.

10 Year Anni Stay
Very clean property and close to pretty much all you would want. There was a dog that came every day and would sit on the porch and just hand out, not sure whose dog it was but it seemed friendly. Great water pressure for showers. A few things that I would change if I were the owner, new dishware, the non stick pans have lived their life, invest in a king size bed and some new living room furniture, and add some board games. Nothing major but those updates would really make this location a 5 star. Overall we would stay again and really enjoyed the property. Elevation is THE spot to eat. Make reservations. We swam in Little River, it was 45 degrees but so worth it. Fort Payne shopping is nice if you want a day to spend outside of the mountains and hiking.

Great little get-a-way
Our family had a wonderful time. This place was so clean, and even better in person. We could hear the creek from the back deck. Much of the places in Mentone were closed during the week so plan on driving out of town or bring most things with you. If you’re staying during the week days.

Quiet tucked away by a creek and a pond but close to amenities. Home was so clean and hot tub was a cherry on top. Kitchen was well equipped, so was the bathrooms. Love our stay. Yoki, the pup came to visit.

The house was very clean and well equipped in the kitchen. There were full size appliances, and since we were there for Thanksgiving it was great to be able to cook a meal. In addition, all linens were provided. The negative side pointed out by my husband was that there was no cell service at all. We were not aware of that when the reservation was made. He needed access to the phone and had to leave the house to find service in order to accomplish a call. There is Internet/Wi-Fi as well as satellite for the TVs. The hot tub was a plus and the kids enjoyed having a large yard and seeing the fish in the creek.

Comfortable and Clean
This was likely one of the nicest and cleanest houses/ cabins we have ever stayed, and we have visited many in our 50+ yrs. of marriage. We also have owned 2 cabins in the past so we know how a cabin should.look & feel to make guests feel comfortable. My only suggestion would be a king bed in master BR, but that s just because we are used to sleeping in a King.

I thank you for your review and your suggestion regarding the King master. I agree with you and do intend to make that change when the mattress needs replacement. Thank you for appreciating the cleanliness. I have stayed in some nasty places and vow that will never be the case at Hawk's Nest Hideaway. Please come again and enjoy.

Perfect place in the mountains
We enjoyed our stay here! It's easy to drive to, and you're away from everybody while also being nearby to some stores. The house is lovely and spacious with plenty of seating inside and outside. There's even some household items like mugs, baking pans, and spices so it definitely made it easier for us to cook with. The hot tub is great with a fantastic view of the woods and creek below. The only thing that could make this better is if the pictures for the listing could be updated and also show how great the bedrooms and bathrooms are. Other than that, would love to stay again!

Nice Getaway

Family trip full of adventure
The place was exactly as described! We received fantastic communication from the owner. The owner kept us updated on Internet outages, weather, and even provided some recommendations for local adventures. It was a home away from home! We felt like we could live there with our family. Cozy indoors, picturesque outdoors
Open floor plan with a cozy feel indoors has plenty of space for 4-6 adults to relax. The hot tub is clean and so relaxing. The back decks and multiple seating spaces are so inviting to take in all this back yard has to offer. The stream is the clearest water ever. Our group was able to sit together for hanging out and was able to split up with the feel of being alone when desired. There is just so much beautiful space to enjoy that we were able to have time as a friend group and time alone as a couple all in one location. This was our second time here and it has consistently been a perfect destination. We hope to return again soon!

My wife and I stayed here with our two children. Everything was clean and as advertised. The property manager was AMAZING to work with. She was very fast to respond and even helped us rebook at the last minute due to unfortunate circumstances. Most owners would not have done this, but Michelle did. Phenomenal Cabin Trip
I was impressed by the loveliness of this cabin. The owner is very nice and responds quickly with detailed responses. The cabin is almost like a new home and is provided with all the amenities you need for cooking and even spices. Would rent again.

Secluded and cozy
Hubby and I stayed here this past weekend for a little 3 day getaway. We fell in love with Mentone and will be back! We had excellent communication from the owners, the check-in/check-out process was clearly laid out, and directions to the home were accurate. The home is very clean! Beautiful kitchen space with everything we needed. Plenty of towels and the beds are made nicely. The hot tub is great, enclosed on the back porch. The decks and outdoor sitting places around the fire pit and down by the stream are lovely additions. So much outdoor space to enjoy! We would love to stay again in the future.

Great location for fall foliage hiking in state parks
My husband and I enjoyed the convenience of hiking in Desoto Falls area and Cloudland Canyon. Hot tub was great after the long hikes. Cabin is very clean with a well appointed kitchen. The kitchen is important because restaurants were generally not open other than Thursday through Sunday during our stay this fall. We brought some groceries with us and were able to fill in from the small grocery store in Menlo about 10-15 minutes away.

14 days of paradise
We had a fantastic time during our stay at Hawks Nest! We were there 14 days and it pretty much rained the entire time. I did manage to do some fishing! Also we visited DeSoto Falls. We had deer in the back yard a couple different days and a crane in the stream one night! We went down to Panama Beach in Florida for an overnight so hubby could finally see the ocean. The hot tub makes for very relaxing evenings. Its a quiet location with everything you need. We look forward to visiting again!
