“Great location. We walked from the cruise port in 20 minutes. Walked to the train station in under 15 minutes. Breakfast was great. They have gluten free options too. Rooms are a good size. You have shopping, restaurants and everything around including the waterfront and old town.”

“Well the hotel is pleasant and characterful. The heating was stuck on in the room with only a small window to open. Unbearable poor nights sleep. On complaining nothing could be done apparently so we were moved to another room. Which was much better. ”

“Logistically superb - lots of walks, beach, at low tide you can go rock pooling etc. Bus stop right outside - which when the weather isn't great is a useful option to get around. There are small bus routes that loop certain areas - and you get a running commentary so worth jumping on. Hotel is fabulous - views are amazing, food is delicious, and good value, room were exceptional (you must like the sound of the sea) and the staff are kind, informative and go above and beyond. ”

“It is a lovely place, the staff is amazing. Very friendly and service minded. The breakfast was delicious! But, the room is very cold, only kne radiator for multiple rooms, old windows letting in all the cold. Worst was that there were no heating or power outlets in the bathroom. Super cold! And a very big spider lived there... I ate dinner one evening at the mansion, it was not worth the money. Minute steak and some fries for 20 pounds. Took 5 seconds to eat. No taste. ”

“Very pleasantly surprised by the well presented hotel, designed to be in keeping with it's original features intact, along with more quirky elements in the decor. The lounge was very comfortable and spacious, and felt like we had stepped back in time to the nineteen twenties. The food was excellent, both as the main meal and the included breakfast, which was a broad menu.
