Cush Uptown Shotgun walk 1 block till Parades

Enkel åtkomst till historiska Saint Charles spårvagnslinjer (4 kvarter). Protokoll från matställen och butiker för tidskrifter (1 block). Utmärkt Mardi Gras-läge (1 kvarter från alla Uptown Parades). Av gatuparkering. Jag är förmodligen partisk, men Uptown är det bästa kvarteret i NOLA. Du blir inte besviken över platsen.

Detta är ett hagelgevär som består av fyra separata rum och 1 badrum. Två av rummen är utsedda sovrum. Husets första sovrum har en queen size-säng och det andra sovrummet har en full storlek säng. Det finns också en soffa i full storlek och det finns gott om plats för en luftmadrass om du väljer att ta med en. Husets bästa funktion är verandan, särskilt om du är ute efter Mardi Gras.

Decent House, Great Location, but...

The house itself was fine. It has been renovated, but it appears to be a DIY job and was a bit sloppy in a few places, as you might expect for a rental. The furniture was acceptable, but not top notch. The house was clean, and the location can't be beat. You are within walking distance of all the best spots along Magazine St. The owner was friendly and communicative. Normally I would give this 5 Stars and move on, but... This house/listing seems to be a victim of the current controversy surrounding short-term rentals in New Orleans. The property is a "double shotgun." According to the City's STR registry, only one of the two units is permitted as of March 2023. This has caused some controversy on the block. We hadn't even made it to the porch before a neighbor ran over to us, told us we were staying at an "illegal rental" and talked at us for 5 minutes about the owner and how STRs are bad for the neighborhood. On day 2, a different neighbor stopped us and told us much the same thing. There's obviously a lot of resentment about this rental existing in this nice neighborhood. Anyone staying here should be aware that you will be viewed as unwelcome by the neighbors, though they won't phrase it that way when they approach you. And they will definitely approach you. I'm lowering my review from 5 stars to 4 because some of the neighborhood reaction falls on the owner. Hopefully they can get the permitting situation cleared up and the neighbors chill out, in which case we'd stay here again.

Wonderful!

Our family just enjoyed a long weekend at this property! The owner was extremely kind and promptly answered all questions. The property was extremely clean and within walking distance of the streetcar, cafes, restaurants and amazing ice cream. We loved every moment of our stay and can’t wait to come back.

Perfect Uptown Family Stay

We visited NOLA with our two kids (4 & 9) and my mom (Grandmas) this place was in a great location with lots of things to walk to. Shops, restaurants, etc. Our favorites were: the Streetcar, Le Petite Grocery (nice dinner with my mom), Creole Creamery (the ice cream is to die for and we went every day of our stay), Milan Lounge (dive bar that my husband and I went to while grandma watched the kids). This is a safe, quiet, family neighborhood. The neighbors were very friendly - 2 introduced themselves who have lived there for 50 years and offered to help us with anything we needed! Southern Hospitality at it's finest. My only complaint was that the beds were not very comfortable, but that might just be because I am used to my own. Overall, great stay!

Great house, great location

Perfect property for our vacation to NOLA. Easy access to street cars and Uber drop off was precise. The only “downside” was the loud neighbors connected to the property. The floor makes very loud noises when the neighbors are walking around and you can even hear their conversations. Other than that the house worked great! Kitchen was clean and updated, beds were comfy.

Great Location, Uncomfortable Beds

The location is really wonderful. The neighborhood is lovely and there is so much stuff within walking distance (Magazine St. and Prytania St. both have great shops/cafes/restaurants). The house is very spacious and the bathroom and kitchen are nicely renovated. The main issue is that the beds are really uncomfortable. We tried both queen beds, one is too hard and one is too soft/very noisy when you get in or out of bed. Overall the house could use a bit of spiffing up (peeling walls/ceiling, not much in the way of New Orleans decor) but the host was very quick to respond to all of our questions and everything worked well (laundry, shower, etc.). If you aren't particular with your beds, then I'd recommend this house for sure.

Great place to stay and great neighborhood

Great place to stay. Very clean and excellent location in uptown New Orleans. They had a nice Kurig coffee maker so we enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch each morning. Charles was very quick responding to any questions. We walked the neighborhood and walked Magazine street a mile each day in opposite directions. We would definitely come back here. The worst part of our trip was the Saints getting beat by the Dolphins- however,we did have a great time before the game in Champions Square!

Perfect location!

We had a great time in Nola. This property was perfect for our family of 5. Plenty of places for everyone to sleep. The neighbors were all super friendly and the house was close to Magazine street where we walked to restaurants (La Boulangerie was our favorite breakfast spot!)

Great place to stay, but...

I'm gonna give it 5 stars- this was a great place to stay, great location right near Magazine St and some great restaurants. Only downside is that if anyone else is staying in the connected unit next door (its a duplex), you will hear their every single step. Our 'neighbors' (at least for couple nights while they were there) were singing and making tons of noise at 630 am every morning. :(
