“The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The lagoon bungalow I stayed in was clean and the view was great. The A/C worked too. A lovely place to stay. My only complaint was the lack of parking and you had to pay a lot for extra’s such as beach towels, so bring your own. ”

“Stayed for 2 nights pre-cruise. Nice and conveniently located to the port in the center of Papeete. Very clean and new, lovely bathroom and great beds, rooms are large. The pool in the hotel is quite small and there are watercycling-classes for people not staying at the hotel at least 2 times a day, but that seems to be a standard on Tahiti, it was a fact in every place we stayed in. “It is a fantastic place, we had an overwater bungalow with pool and it was amazing. The only thing we didnt like that there was no small dishes to eat during lunch such like an omelette and the cost for a lunch was to expensive. “Loved our stay at Mark’s Place. If you want to experience life in Moorea like the locals then Mark’s the place. Homes are Tahitian styled and built by Mark. Yes there’s the chickens and dogs so expect to wake up around 4-5 am like the locals. FYI there’s no AC but ceiling fan and portable fan makes it comfortable. "The rooms are located on the inland side of the road, while the reception and amenities are by the sea. I loved the room decorations and design with a 70s style. The bed is comfortable, and there is a daybed as well. The surrounding grounds are lush and beautiful. The hotel has great bikes for rent. If you walk or bike north of the hotel, you can reach abandoned luxury hotels and enjoy views over the mountain. At a shorter distance to the south, you’ll reach some restaurants, grocery shops, and Matira beach. The beach at the hotel has coral. There is plenty of fish and also stingrays. The lights at night make it possible to observe the fish, which is a nice feature. The pool is small but nice, though it is located by the bar, so I preferred using it outside of meal hours. Unfortunately, I got sick after dinner on my last night, so my final evening was not pleasant. Despite this, I would recommend this hotel, and it feels good to support a Polynesian-managed property. "
