Prior guests may have returned them to the cupboard in that condition and the housekeepers were unaware of it. Our housekeepers will be advised to inspect dishes as well as pots and pans at each turnover. As for the heating, had you contacted us, we would have sent someone out immediately to address it. Mattresses are a matter of personal preference. We can only hope the majority of guests find our quality mattresses comfortable. We wish you fond memories of your stay.
