Our stay at Caivama had both wonderful aspects and frustrating ones.First, the positives. The building itself is beautiful and very well located. The rooftop pool area is absolutely stunning with a panoramic view of Sayulita and the ocean. The local staff working in the building were kind, friendly, and helpful whenever we interacted with them. The property itself deserves high marks.Unfortunately, our experience with the property management company was very disappointing.Communication was extremely slow or nonexistent throughout our stay. Messages sent through the VRBO app often went unanswered for days, and some were never answered at all.The unit listing also described being able to watch the surf from the wraparound balcony. In reality there was no visible ocean view from the balcony at all, only hillside vegetation and neighboring buildings. I provided photos of this to VRBO.Several amenities listed in the unit were also not functional. The washing machine was broken and we were later told it had been out of service for several months. For a two-week stay, this was a major inconvenience and one of the reasons we selected the unit.Other issues included:•ceiling fans in the bedrooms not working•difficulty getting assistance with laundry and linens•requests such as water delivery and cleaning either delayed or never addressedWhile some laundry was eventually done off-site, it required tracking down staff rather than the management proactively resolvin
