“I loved my stay here. The location is perfect. Ambleside is very walkable so everything was close. The room had windows with beautiful views of the town, and I really appreciated there being a full length mirror in there. It was quiet and comfortable. Meg and John take great care of their guests. I was given a parking disc that could be used at a few different car parks in the area. Breakfast was absolutely lovely with a lot of choices. I’m so pleased with my choice to stay here!”

“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

“When we approached the hotel it looks a stunning country house. Lovely location. We were welcomed very nicely. We had a lake view room. On first appearance it was quaint old and looked inviting. As time went by it was obvious that the upkeep of maintenance was lacking. This was reflected throughout the hotel. Our dinner in the restaurant came cold and my husbands potatoes were missing.
