The Space:
Incredible mountain farmhouse with a rich history and gorgeous renovations, just minutes from Balch Park in the Sequoia National Forest. Enjoy uninterrupted views from the back deck, stargaze, and soak in the crisp mountain air. Whether you're looking for peaceful relaxation or daring adventures, Mt. Dennison has it all. Nearby Balch Park is famous for fishing, hiking, and rock climbing. This farmhouse is the perfect home base for families traveling to Balch Park, wedding guests at any of the nearby venues including The White Barn in Springville, or anyone in need of a relaxing and exciting vacation in the Sequoia National Forest.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire mountain home, wifi, washer and dryer, yard games, one driveway parking space plus street parking, and plenty of grassy area to play, tent camp in the yard (must be approved), or hang out under the stars.  The driveway is shared and there is another vacation rental on the property.

Other details to note

This is a mountain residence, so there may be some undesirable creatures such as rattle snakes, skunks, raccoons, spiders, and other insects.  We do our best to keep these away, but they do make an appearance from time to time. Our farm dogs do a great job at keeping the bears and mountain lions away from the property.

This beautiful home does not have a TV, we invite you to unplug, enjoy the outdoors and quality time with your loved ones!

There is another vacation rental on the property. You'll share a driveway and a breezeway to the backyard. There are no shared walls. You are welcome to rent both properties, please let us know if you're interested in this!

Neighborhood Description

Up at the top of Balch Park road, you'll find this beautiful mountain farmhouse.  There's an apartment on the property that is also a vacation rental, and the property owners live on the ranch, so while you're up in the Sequoias, there is a feeling of safety and security, with other people nearby. Enjoy minimal light pollution allowing for optimum stargazing! Bring your telescope and set up camp under the stars! Views of the mountains and forest from every window, you're likely to see many birds, and even deer and other wildlife along the beautiful drive up. The nearest "town" with restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores is Springville, and the nearest large town with grocery stores and entertainment is Porterville. Located just a few miles above downtown Springville, the gorgeous surroundings make for amazing wedding backdrops, and there are many wedding venues around, most notably The White Barn at Springville Ranch.

House Rules

1. Communication is key!  Check in after 4pm.  Check out by 11am.  Our office hours are between 8am-9pm, so please communicate between those hours and let us know if you plan to arrive after 9pm.

2.  Honesty is the best policy! Let us know about ALL guests who will be coming to the house. Maximum Occupancy is 14. There are farm dogs on the property that roam freely, as well as potentially dangerous animals, so use extreme care if bringing dogs. 2 dogs max., must never be left alone. Be advised there are some areas in the National Park that don't allow dogs.

3. No parties! We know this home holds a lot of people, but we still request that you respect it as if it's your own. If you'd like to host an event here, it must be approved. No smoking of any kind. Removal of smoke detectors is illegal. Loud music, excessive rowdiness, excessive drinking, smoking, etc. will result in a $1,000 party fine. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am.  If you'd like to bring a tent and camp in the yard, please let us know ahead of time.

4. Be respectful! When using outdoor areas (patio, bbq, etc.), and provided amenities, please clean up after yourself so the next guests can enjoy them as well. One car max in the driveway, all other cars must park along the street.  Please don't "block in" another car and never park on the grass.

5. Have fun! Our goal is to host a vacation to remember. If you don't agree with our above rules, please do not book the home! If you're interested in booking both this home and the apartment on the property, let us know!

6. Please don't leave trash outside where wild animals will make a big mess of it.  There is a provided dumpster for your convenience at the end of the driveway.

We suggest using your own vehicle to get around. Please keep in mind that if you are traveling to higher elevations in the winter, you may need chains/4WD.

Beautiful house nice view good service and maintenance

Was unable to make the Wednesday checkin, we were there on Thursday afternoon,On Friday morning in the rain, I was 3 hours out of getting married, and the storage tank for the water ran out and had NO water to get ready for my wedding. It was remedied rather quickly but still had to head down to the venue to get ready

.pre- planning on a water storage tank when you are renting out a property should have been filled prior to our arrival. Also the Wi-Fi does not work. Not sure I would ever do a rental from this area again. People were friendly, guest equity was friendly, but the issues this caused on my wedding day were experiential to the stresses of a wedding.
