Koppla av i andan i Texas där allt är stort. Stora himlen, stora vyer, Big Bend!

Custom byggd "True Adobe" boning på 40 tunnland. Hemmet är inrett i en Texas tema och har alla bekvämligheter i ett hem. Koppla av på den stora täckta främre sten veranda. Njut av välutrustade kök med massor av förvaring eller koppla av i vardagsrummet. Sitt ner vid matbordet och njuta av att äta, prata eller spela ett spel med familj och vänner.

Home Sweet Texas hem byggdes ursprungligen 1975 och därefter rensad (om att de adobe väggar) och byggdes av en byggmästare och hans son 2001. Byggmästaren hade en kärlek till de naturliga stenar (inklusive förstenat trä) från Terlingua området och införlivade dem i det vackra bergvägg och bergpelare som pryder huset, liksom den främre sten veranda (leta efter fossiler). De nuvarande ägarna, sedan 2006, är ivrig älskare av alla ting Texas och inrett huset med en "Texas Flair".

Home Sweet Texas Home har två stora sovrum, vardera med en dubbelsäng. Det andra sovrummet har också en hopfällbar (konvertibla RV typ) soffa, som ett barn kunde sova på. Köket är mycket välfyllda med grytor och kastruller, och bara om någon apparat eller redskap en kock kan önska. Matsalen har ett stort bord som är bra inte bara för måltider, men för att spela kort eller de många spel som ägarna har tillhandahållit. I vardagsrummet hittar du en gaseldade öppen spis (gas loggar) och en TV för att visa någon av DVD eller video i det lilla biblioteket. De två badrum är mer än gott med huvud bad med ett badkar / dusch samt tvättmaskin och torktumlare.

Home Sweet Texas Home har en "Texas size" front sten veranda som du kommer att vara säker på att njuta. Sitt ute på gungstolar och koppla av, eller ställa in picknick bord och njuta av en måltid utomhus, samlas "runt firepit och berätta historier, eller stjärna blick, eller bara njuta av utsikten över de omgivande bergen.

Wynne Road är bra att lugn promenad ner, eller ta en vandring på berget bakom huset eller ge sig in i öknen framför. Terlingua Ranch Lodge är en kort 3 mil bilresa från huset.

Ordet "Texas" kommer från Caddo indiska ordet "teyshas" betyder vän. Passande, under årens lopp, har ägarna gjort många vänner (lokalbefolkningen samt out-of-towners) och hade många, många möten på Home Sweet Texas Home. Det har nu kommit tid för ägarna att öppna sina hus för dig - Friends. Välkommen och se till några underbara minnen här!

  • The Rio Grande River winds 12 miles down Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park, Texas. When the water is high you can come down the 1,500 foot walled canyon. With less water flowing, guides take you 3 to 4 miles up the canyon with some spots having to portage. But take it all in stride because the views are breathtaking. I recommend Big Bend River Tours. You might get lucky and have the guides that take you a half mile up a side canyon. An excellent day excursion in the out of the way national park.

Perfect

Comfort under Big Sky

Very comfortable place to return to after long hot days of hiking in Big Bend National Park. One of the best places around. Laundry was a huge benefit. FYI it takes just under an hour to get to BB Park but the drive was worth it. Hosts always responded to questions quickly. We even took advantage of the swimming pool at the Lodge 3 miles down the road for a nominal fee.

Great house

House was great for our group! Porch was perfect for sunrises with coffee and sunsets with a cold drink and we enjoyed having space for us to spread out and relax. The dark skies were DARK and beautiful. The house was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It’s located a bit outside the town of Terlingua and if you are not used to country roads, the 13 miles off main road to house may seem long.

Texas Home

A very nice place to enjoy a unique landscape. We staged there for 3 days in Big Bend National Park. The house had everything we needed. The owners were on top of every communication and provided very detailed directions and instructions.

Terlingua Home Perfect location

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Terlingua home. It is spacious and was very clean! I just couldn't ever get the wifi to work for my phone, but we didn't really need it as we were only there in the evenings. The location is excellent for Big Bend National Park, Terlingua/Study Butte, and Alpine. I would definitely stay here again.

Big Bend Trip

Immersed in the Big Bend Experience

We spent five nights at Texas Home Sweet Home and could not have been more pleased. There are other lodging options nearer or within the park but our experiences with everything from porch sitting and the fire pit to night sky watching and the Terlingua Ranch pool made it worth the drive. We felt like locals instead of tourists. The tips from the host for provisioning the cabin were spot on and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. Highly recommend!

Big Bend Family Trip with Toddler

The house was much bigger than we expected! Great for 2 families or couples since rooms are on opposite sides of the house. The rooms are big and we appreciated the comfortable king size bed. We had plenty of room to have our toddler on his air mattress next to our bed. The fire pit was a huge hit! We spent every night out by it and brought our reclining lounge chairs to enjoy the millions of stars after the fire went out. The road to get to the Texas Home is easy to access and drive on. It’s only a short distance of gravel that any car could handle. The check in process was a breeze. We didn’t see the updated wifi password and had no water when we arrived, but they have a land line with provided phone numbers so we were able to easily call and get both issues resolved immediately. Big Bend Vacation Rentals was wonderful to work with. My only “complaint” is the showers didn’t feel clean which was probably the only thing I really wanted super clean coming in from hiking. Hopefully, they consider this for the future, but it wouldn’t deter me from recommending. Comparable to other places, this home was truly underrated due to its size and the property. We fell in love with it and our toddler loved exploring it. We would definitely book here again! Thanks for a wonderful stay and the unforgettable family memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime!

Excellent base for Big Bend exploration

This property was as-advertised, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Since it is about 30 miles from Terlingua, we headed out early for each day's expeditions, both in the national park and the surrounding areas, and returned in the late afternoons to relax, and enjoy the solitude and gorgeous sunsets while cooking dinner, listening to music, and playing cards. We had good communication with the property managers, and had everything we needed.

Owner emailed good information. As previous review weeds needs to be trimmed to see if any critters . there is no local TV. take your apple tv if u want to see TV , Watch out for 2 large dogs that live across the street ( they wouldn’t let us out of car till the owner called them.

Tranquility

Property was exactly as it appeared inside. Wonderful front porch we enjoyed every morning. Needs a little upkeep but we were here during the off season. Property nice parts awesome. Need to get away from the turbulence of the world. Come here. You are a good distance from what the general public calls civilization for example MacDonalds, cell phone service ( sporadic) there is internet so you won’t die. All in all a wonderful place. Check out Lajitas and both the National and state parks!!!

Lovely stay in Terlingua

Amazing views!

Our group enjoyed our time at Texas Sweet Texas. We spent most of our time hiking in the Big Bend National Park. It was refreshing to come back, wash the trail dust off, and relax on the comfortable, Texas size furniture. We all slept well!

Perfect for star gazing!

Loved the lack of light pollution allowing for spectacular views of the stars. Was able to take pictures of the stars, Milky Way, and even some shooting stars with my iphone. Really enjoyed our stay and the house was perfect for two couples. Already planning our next visit.

Remote with amazing views

Our stay went well. Property managers/owners very responsive. House is clean and comfortable. It is a very remote location, but also in the middle of all the sights and activities in the area. We had an assume time and enjoyed our stay.
