Sapphire - A Lovely Cottage in the Woods with Mountain Scenery

Nestled in the woodland gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains,
Here you will find your perfect home base for an adventure in the mountains of beautiful north Georgia, or maybe just a quiet retreat for you with family or friends. Surrounded by 75 acres and bordered by the Chattahoochee National Forest, relax and read a book on the screen porch, stroll through the gardens, you can also take a walk in the woods.

The custom-built cottage sleeps up to 10 people. It boasts a stacked rock wood-burning fireplace in the main living area, perfect for a fireside chat or cozy, cool evenings. The open floor plan has an equipped kitchen, countertop seating, a dining table, and a comfortable living space under the vaulted ceiling. The open-air deck and patio beckon you to commune with nature as you enjoy morning coffee among the trees.

We will leave you several bits of information about restaurants and even a personal chef, as well as navigating around Splendor Mountain.

The beds in the sleeping areas are made. In the hallway, there is a linen closet with blankets and extra towels. Behind the folding doors in the kitchen, you will find a washer and dryer.

There are 3 nearby State Parks: (Tallulah Gorge, Moccasin Creek and Black Rock Mountain).

Amazing property

Me and my family had a awesome time, conveniently located near Clayton and Tallulah river. The property is wonderful for peace and quiet or going down to the swimming lake/pond and having a ball. Hope to return someday!

Bucolic!

Our stay at Sapphire cottage within Splendor Mountain was restful, adventurous and lovely. Our two boys ages 5 and 10 had a wonderful time swimming in Banner Lake and taking the canoe around the lake. The view from the overlook above the lake is stunning! We enjoyed cooking on the charcoal grill, relaxing on the back porch overlooking the forest, and walking the grounds. Chevin and her family were warm and welcoming. We are so thankful for such a fabulous experience!

Quiet, restful cabin in the woods

Enchanting, tranquil place, deep in the woods away from civilization yet not too far From town. Lots of beauty surrounding the gorgeous rustic cabin which had a great layout. Also available, the lake to swim and firepit to name a few.

Phenomenal!!!!

Wow! Sapphire cottage at Splendor Mountain is an incredible property! Not only is the cottage beautiful, but the private property it is on is gorgeous. With the swimming, hiking, and incredible views, next time we will plan to only leave the property for groceries!

Family Stay

Our whole family got together for the first time in several years here. Property was very clean and we loved that we could bring our 2 small dogs. Property is located near several large lakes. Our favorite was the screened porch and the small “spring” lake. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and swimming. Would definitely stay again!

Love this Cabin - Every Time!

We stayed in the sapphire cabin for a second time and loved every bit of it again! Chevin is an excellent host and always communicates quickly. We love the area and the ease of access to the cabin - not to mention it's always stocked with towels, blankets, and all the kitchen items you could think to need! Our group has already decided that we will make staying here a regular occurrence! I can't recommend it enough!

The Best Elopement Hideaway

My husband and I found this place for our reception and lodging for our micro wedding/elopment and could not have been happier. We, all being from the flat limerock that is central florida, were all very nervous to navigate the mountain side that Splendor Mountain resides on. I don't think we ever got used to it. But we absolutely adored everything about the lodges, and the place we held our reception. Chevin was wonderful and super accomodating for us all as we took over her estate for the week/weekend.

Cabin in the woods

Sapphire cabin is nicely nestled in the woods, allowing for peace and quiet as well as ample room to get out and roam about. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to put family dinners together for our gang of 8, and a 15 minute drive to downtown historic Clayton satisfied the shopaholics amongst us. Chevin, our hostess, is amazing. Welcoming and attentive to any questions or concerns from booking to the end of our stay.

Relaxing

My family and I stayed here for a week at Thanksgiving. We had a fantastic week there. It had plenty of space for us to stretch out, but also space to spend quality family time together playing games at the table. Chevin was amazing and answered any questions I had. Absolutely Perfect!

The cabin is beyond belief - the photos really don't do it justice. There were 10 of us staying to celebrate our friend's birthday. She just lost her mother unexpectedly this past September and we knew we couldn't let this birthday pass without doing something big and special for her. I could not have been more pleased with how perfect this rental turned out to be - SOOO much space, plenty to do nearby, absolutely gorgeous area, and just the serenity we all needed. Not only did our group have a great stay, but our friend said she had the best birthday she could have asked for - and that was the main goal. I highly recommend this cabin. And, our host was great - very communicative, thorough, and helpful. The process from rental, to access, to checkout was effortless. No matter what your reason for renting, this really is the perfect place to stay.!

Emily’s Wedding cabin 2

We rented both cabins for our daughters wedding and it worked beautifully. This property was everything Emily wanted for her special day and more. . Chevin, was there to help us at all times. She helped make Emily’s wedding so relaxing and stress free. So many great places for pictures and for even having the ceremony. The lodge is spectacular. We are so thankful that we were able to have the wedding at Splendor Mountain !

Exceeded expectations!!!

I don’t even know where to start! Check-in/out couldn’t have been easier. Directions provided led us straight to the location; don’t depend on Google maps; the owner sent a text with clear and precise directions in advance. Cleanliness: It was super clean! Such a nice feeling to arrive to something so spotless! We brought our two dogs(goldendoodles), and sometimes places that allow dogs are not as clean… looked and smelled like no pets were ever there. Pet policy: As mentioned they did allow the dogs. Such a nice feature that saved on boarding fees for us and allowed us to spend vacation time with our fur babies as well. The dogs loved running the property and swimming the lake. We brought a large crate to put them in when we were gone from cabin and couldn’t take them with. Parking. We had two large vehicles (12 passenger van and quad cab F150. It was a tight fit, but there was additional parking by lake if needed. I am glad we didn’t need it, as it would have made it a little inconvenient, but for our purposes, it was fine. Accuracy of listing: My only complaint is that the pictures didn’t do this property justice. In their defense, pictures could never fully capture the beauty and peace at this property! :) Communication: A+ it was so nice to meet them; they felt like long-time friends and were so extremely nice! They communicated very detail and we were able to see them on property a couple times and also to text them during our stay. We texted one night to do a bonfire at an overlook that was just too beautiful for words - the mountains in the distance were breathtaking! They set the fire up for us at a designated time and had it ready for us when we arrived. Seriously the nicest and friendliest hosts! Met their son and daughter and grandkids, too! All of them were just precious! Location: It was located on a vast private property with so much to do on the property itself; we spent one whole day exploring the property, trails in the woods, the lake, etc. it felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, but it was literally minutes to Clayton and many conveniences (Wal-mart, restaurants, shopping, quaint local spots, trails, parks)! This property is simply beautiful and we could’ve spent the whole time on property exploring if we had wanted! Cabin: fully stocked with supplies! Laundry facilities, plenty of beds and (3) bathrooms, fireplace, screened porch and unscreened, grill, fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms.

Cabin nestled in a Beautiful misty forestry

Chevin was a very nice host and her cabin was so beautiful and pristine. Our family love every minute of our stay. What a beautiful experience like a scene in a movie. Waking up to the trees are magical. Hopefully will visit again and definitely will recommend it.

I wish there were more then 5 star!

Extremely caring and helpful host, we had such a great experience! The house was very clean and very well equipped with everything that you would need. From all the cleaning supplies to all the utensils in the kitchen. Lots of towels in the bathroom and bedroom drawers. Absolutely felt like home. Very comfortable and cozy house. The host were very good in responding with any questions or queries. Very good and friendly host! Would definitely plan a trip again!!
