The accommodations were beautiful and very comfortable. Everything was spotless when we arrived, and it was great to have spaces where we could get together and relax/chat. The shower was especially fabulous. It was a little difficult only having one shower on the ground floor for 4 people, and I don't think the set up would work for many more occupants. There were 2 toilets - one on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor. Having a washing machine/dryer was a real plus. The check in process was a bit difficult because we tried to follow the instructions sent to us, but the keypad on the door was broken. The owner had sent us alternate instructions the day we arrived, but we had trouble understanding them and a kind neighbor had to call the owner to figure out how we could get into the house. We never met the owner, and he never contacted us to find out how things were going - a little surprising. I guess we expected a bit more help and care given how expensive this place was. The owner was very responsive to our online messages though. There were sufficient paper products provided, and water in the fridge, but no welcome package (maybe that omission is cultural;?) There were basic instructions on some of the appliances, but it would have been very helpful to have someone meet us at check in and show us how to use things (like the bathtub which we never did figure out.) All the instructions were in Japanese, and our translation app was sometimes inadequate.
