“Our host was the kindest woman and her place was so charming and well equipped. It felt like you were staying at your mom’s house. It was perfect for our two nights day with kids.”

Only negatives were that the bed is not very comfortable, and also the sound proofing is not very good so unless you have a fan on or something you'll be able to hear traffic and trains throughout the night. ”

The fire pit is a wonderful feature for the cool coastal nights. Every bedroom has access to the backyard which is nice. I would highly recommend this house. “We have been coming to Silverstrand for 30 years and love the nice cool beach and quaint neighborhood. We loved this beach house and would absolutely stay there again. It is basic, uncluttered, a little worn but comfortable. The kitchen is pretty small and the cookware is old but it’s all functional. The house gets a little warm but the owners provide large fans and with the windows and doors open it cools off very nicely. The bathrooms are nice and the outside shower was great for rinsing off...

“The place is wonderful! Two of us best friends had a get away for Easter week and it was so relaxing. Tom and Eileen left a plate of fresh-baked goodies and a chilled bottle of wine for us, then a few days later a cute carton of fresh-laid eggs. We felt so pampered! The weather was constantly shifting, but we found the property allowed for everything. We really liked the bird-feeder, and sweeping views. Pool and spa were lovely. So easy, and the hosts seemed very amenable. Will visit again!”

“My wife and I really liked this property because of the fenced in yard with hot tub and putting greens. Given we had two kids under 3, they needed to be able to run when we were there. My three year old loved calling the loft his bedroom! Would stay there again.”

Older charm by the ocean!

"The Pierpont Hotel is a charming place just by the ocean. A short walk 5 min, under the freeway, and you are on the beach. There is construction ongoing, and it is an older place, but the little cottage 102 was charming! Rose gardens, great parking by the cottage.Few steps to breakfast. Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, bagels etc. Outdoor and indoor seats. (Could use a little update). Small pool, good for kids. 10 min walk to Ventura pier. Very nice staff checkin and out very efficient. Parking is usd 10,-, deposit usd 100,-. There is a big road just outside, and traffic noise, but was fine in the cottage. Coffee, fridge in room, nice tub and shower. Rustic but charming. Not fancy but cute. Great bed and pillows! I recommend the place for location. No restaurant on site except breakfast, but short drive to a few options. "
