Not ready to be rented during the summer

When we arrived the temperature inside this apartment was more than 80 degrees. Although a new air conditioner had been installed in one of the living room windows, it was not turned on before our arrival and it was not capable of cooling +/-2,000 square feet. We turned on the A/C window unit and went out for dinner, hoping that it would make a difference. We spoke to Vacasa’s 24/7 customer service representative for almost 25 minutes, and we were told that their local service crew would contact us as soon as possible. Since it was a Friday evening, I specifically asked if they work on the weekend. Vacasa’s representative was not sure when or if anyone would be working on the weekend. Either way, we were never contacted and to my knowledge no one attempted to address this issue. According to the newest thermostat in the living room, it was still 79 degrees inside at 11:00 PM. Everyone in my family was sweating and no one was able to get a good night’s sleep because it was too hot in the bedrooms. The next day/night was similar (particularly on the top floor). Fortunately the outside temperature was lower the second night and we were able to open about half of the windows (because only half of them had screens). In addition, the shower located in the bathroom on the top floor did not work. We couldn’t/didn’t use this shower because it was too hot on the top floor. As a result, we all shared the shower on the main floor.

The apt was ok for the most part but not a good fit for seniors, the stairs were steep, especially to the 3rd floor. We noticed the 2nd fl toilet was loose, it wasn't secure to the floor. There were mouse droppings in a few drawers. We reported these things the day we got there and were told they would contact the area manager. When I checked a couple of days later all they said was, the issues have been reported. Not a good way to do business. We think there should be a mention of how steep the stairs are in the description of the property so seniors or people who have mobility problems are made aware prior to booking. Other than those things we had a good time. The apt was nice enough and the area is beautiful.
