“If I can sum it up in one word…. ‘Wow!’ This hotel was amazing. I booked a Japanese style room on the upper floor of the west wing with a private onsen. The room was spacious, clean and really comfortable beds. Sitting in the onsen and having a ‘cold drink’ with the views was amazing. The hotel staff was excellent on check- in and check-out. Dinner and breakfast service was also excellent.”

“My partner and I are experienced travelers, but unfortunately, we found this hotel to be quite disappointing considering its price. Here’s why: • Our room wasn’t cleaned when we returned at 5 pm. Surprisingly, the reception staff claimed that we had declined cleaning for environmental reasons, even though no one asked us during check-in. “Very attentive service and gourmet meals. A quiet hotel with a spacious room that hosted my wife, myself, and our 2 young adult children with sufficient privacy. The private onsen was spectacular, as was the little protected outdoor deck.”

“A nice ryokan with superfriendly staff. Beautiful private onsens and fine dinner in the afternoon. The rooms was old and worn out but very big. I missed some type of shop for late night snacks or something, but overall a very great experience. Will definitely come back to this place.”

“Amazing and magical experience! The hospitality of the staff is at a very high standard. Perfect for couples. Every room is different but they each have a private onsen with hot spring water. Only stayed one night and it’s been highlight of our 2 week Japan trip so far. ”

“We loved our stay and didn't want to leave! We had three nights in one of the Villas. It was completely private, the wood cabin was gorgeous and smelled amazing. We had a private outdoor bath in the villa and it was fabulous spending time out there. Both the traditional Japanese breakfast and the French breakfast buffet was a treat. “Mysigt, gammaldags hotell med underbar trädgård. Ligger ganska bra till för att ta sig runt i Hakoneområdet. Enda nackdelen är att restaurang och frukost på hotellet är dyrt och det finns inte några direkta alternativ i närområdet.”

“This was a delightful stay for our family. The hotel checkin was a breeze, and the staff was so friendly and kind. They gave a very good overview of the stay, what to expect and where to find things. The meals were wonderful. Beautifully presented and tasty. We also had accommodations for Vegetarian and Vegan diners which made it an all inclusive experience for our group. ”
