Hotell nära Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

"Nice average hotel for one or two nights stayover. Pool area a bit small, but nice access to beach using the bridge over the road."

"This was previously a nice quiet resort for middle-aged couples. Now it is a crowded hotel for noisy families with kids. What we liked: The view of the sea. Close to the beach. That we stayed on a high floor. 12 and 17. Large apartment. We tried both 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments. Liked 1 bedroom best. What we didn't like: We booked through a 3rd party and were supposed to pay on site. 2 days before arrival - the hotel cancels the entire reservation of 13 nights without telling us why. We suspect that the hotel tried to withdraw money from our card without permission, even though we were not supposed to pay in advance. This is a red flag. When we ,after all, decide to book again, the hotel is fully booked and we have to split our vacation into 4 different accommodations. This caused a lot of problems for us. We didn't like the level of service at the hotel. Instead of greeting - the staff looked the other way. No smiles and no greetings from any of the staff throughout our stay. No excuse for the cancelled reservation given. The elevators are far too small and too few. Expect to wait 10 minutes for one. Lots of strollers in the elevators. Crowded. Not safe. The pool is only a kids pool. We counted 16 children in the pool one evening and this also makes the noise level far too high if you stay on the balcony towards the pool. It goes on until 9.30 pm. We were really disappointed in how the hotel has changed since we were last here. No return planned. "

"We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent and especially Alberto who served us. Very nice room, valet and reception was quick and helpful. Clean hotel we can recommend to everyone. Be sure to enjoy the breakfast on the porch with a beautiful seaside view."

"Unfortunately, this was the worst W experience I've ever had. When I checked in, there was blood on the sheets and curtains. It took over an hour for someone to come and clean it, with no offer to change rooms or provide any compensation from the front desk. The hotel overall feels quite worn down. The lobby bar is nice, but the smell in the area is very unpleasant. Two weeks after checkout, I received an unexpected invoice and a $150 charge to my credit card for what was allegedly a laundry fee. There’s no way to contact the hotel directly—only a phone number to an overseas call center. After three calls, someone finally tried to assist. I was sent a copy of a receipt that wasn’t even in my name. Despite several attempts, I never received a reply to my follow-up emails. Eventually, I gave up and had to accept that W Fort Lauderdale charged me for something I had nothing to do with. Extremely disappointing experience."
