ANNUAL MISSISSIPPI RIVER GETAWAY
This is a very cozy cabin out in the driftless area nestled in valleys and rolling hills (just beautiful) with comfortable beds in both bedrooms. Laurie went out of her way to make sure our group and especially my disabled wife had all that she needed. The ramp for getting over the entry threshold worked great! The added toilet chair was most welcome also.....as was the shower transfer chair. It is hard to find places that will accommodate persons with disabilities. This cabin is great....and the host was friendly and very easy to work with. We will be back!!!

A Great Time!
This is a great cottage! The owner is easy to communicate with and goes above and beyond to make a stay great. My husband uses a power wheelchair and it can be HARD to find an accessible rental that can accommodate his chair as well as the rest of the family. This was great! Easy for my husband to get in/out, and into the spacious rooms. Close to all nearby attractions!

Great spot and very homey
The place has a nice location near Lacrosse and Winona. Check in was very easy and the place was as advertised. Very clean and warm. We had an slight issue with the tea pot and Laurie fixed it in less than a minute. Highly recommend.

quaint, secluded
Beautiful location, was a bit hard to locate, even with the advice of wait for gps to reroute from an unmaintained backroad. It rerouted us back to the same road. I would suggest adding take CR 1 to driving directions. Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, great place to kick back and relax!

Sooo beautiful!!
This place has it all!! Amazing views for every second of the day! We spent so much time outside sitting around it was great. WiFi was perfect for when the kids needed a nature break haha! The host wasn’t home and if they were I don’t think we would even have noticed! The cabin has everything you may need. Very cozy. Thank you!!

Girls Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was so nice curling up by the fireplace on a chilly evening! The caretaker Laurie was super responsive and helpful with questions. Everything we needed was available and there was plenty of space to stretch out.

Amazing hospitality!!!
This place was super cute and cozy. The weekend we stayed was subzero temps the whole time and we stayed nice and warm with the awesome fireplace. Our host was incredible! She went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful getaway for my girls and I!

Loved the quiet rustic feeling
We had a great time. We relaxed and went for walks with our dog and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the bluffs.

Quick weekend getaway
Quaint little place close to the Bluffs state park. It had enough space for 2 kids + 3 adults. We mainly spent our evenings there as we were out and about during the day. I wished for a few more windows in the place. I was hoping the views of the bluffs could have been seen within the cabin. You could only see them outside. I wanted the campfire pit in front of the place. It was between our place and the owners home.

Well equipped cabin in beautiful region
We were there for a short 2 night stay during a cross country trip to move us from CA to MA. The cabin had everything we needed and I wish we had more time to explore. Definitely hope to go back.

This place was exactly how it is described. Beautiful setting quiet and peaceful. House was great. Perfect for our week of fishing with the kids !!! Laurie was always checking in making sure we were good and if we needed anything. Top notch place !!

Hiking oasis
Check in process was easy, Laurie reached out to me the week before and I felt she was always quick and responsive to my questions. I was so happy to be able to bring my dog along with. Nice area, 15-20 min drive into LaCrosse and most parks. The property is on the top of the bluff but wooded...beautiful trees surrounding but unable to see out into the valley. Next time we come we will aim for fall...it has to be absolutely breathtaking with all the leaves turning. The property was nicely landscaped and she had a huge display of aromatic petunias. There is a plethera of books and games at your disposal. The master and bathroom were very large. All the amenties you would need are there. We would definitly stay here again. Thanks again Laurie!

Laurie the owner was very nice and personable. The cottage/house was beautiful. The location was perfect for going to Lacrosse or other places in MN. Would definetley recommend this to any group of 6 or less, we had 3 in our group but ther is plenty of room for more

Excellent Hospitality
Starting from the beginning, Laurie's check in instructions were clear and helpful, she was very friendly and helped us troubleshoot (user) errors with the gas stove. She was the perfect mix of hospitable hostess and respectful property manager. It was the perfect, cozy place to host a girl's getaway! We will certainly consider coming back next time we plan a road trip!

Cozy Place in a Beautiful Location
The cabin was very clean and cozy. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the view outside was simply breathtaking. There were even bookshelves that had a variety of different kinds of books for those who love reading. The area is fantastic for biking, hiking, and fishing or boating. We highly recommend the Root River trail for those who enjoy long bike rides in beautiful areas. The cabin was only fifteen minutes from La Crosse so although the cabin itself was pretty secluded, we still had access to all our needs in stores and restaurants. Laurie was a fantastic host and made us feel welcome. We would definitely come back here again.

A cozy weekend getaway
Laurie's place was a wonderful getaway in a beautiful location. The home was cozy and had everything that we needed. The kitchen was nice and spacious and worked with all of our cooking needs. Laurie was out of town the weekend we were up so we weren't able to meet in person, but she still reached out and made us feel so welcomed. One thing to note is that Laurie's place is right next door. It didn't take away from our retreat but from the pictures listed, I thought the cabin was going to be more secluded. We loved our time at the house and would definitely come back again.

This was a very nice pace to stay. Very quiet and secluded on the top of a bluff with Amazing views. It was like being at a cabin all to yourself. Very clean and all the amenities of home! Great host as well. A must if you have the chance!! We certainly plan to try again when we return to the area!

Fantastic cabin and amazing views!
Laurie saw to all of our needs. This cabin is perfect for a couple or small group. Everything worked and is in great condition. The views overlooking bluff country are unreal! The hiking trails down the bluff were nice, too for a beautiful winter walk. We will definitely stay here again! Many things to do in Winona and La Crosse.

Perfect getaway weekend with a view!
I joined four girlfriends for a much needed girls weekend away. This cabin was exactly what we were hoping for! The cabin is situated next to the owner’s own priviate property atop a bluff. The view out of the front door of the cabin looks out over the beautiful tree changing colors below. The cabin had plenty of kitchen space for all of our goodies - we always bring way too much! We cooked meals in the well stocked kitchen and had all “family” meals together. The living room had a nice gas fireplace, and a great flat screen with plenty of channels. The WiFi was spotty at times as it pulls from the owner’s home but we weren’t intending on spending the weekend connected. The coffee table was the perfect size for playing board games and cards. The bathroom was huge and nice for all of us to get ready to go out downtown LaCrosse at night. We didn’t have any problem getting a Lyft ride to and from which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great stay. Laurie was more than accommodating and made sure we were comfortable on our stay. Thanks Laurie!

Roomy rental close to many activities
The rental was all it was promised to be. Plenty of room for all of our needs and for a family. Located about 25 minutes south of Winona and about 20 minutes west of LaCrosse there were many things to do both in the towns and also in one of the nearby State Parks, and Nature areas. Our host was accommodating and was able to quickly take care of any issues or requests. This place had everything we needed. We were very comfortable on our week-long stay. Thank you!

Gorgeous and peaceful setting
The guest house was perfect for our girls’ getaway. Lots of space, great table for playing games, well equipped kitchen so we could bring in groceries and cook. The owner has it outfitted with great amenities and so many beautiful flowers outside. Driving out there was beautiful and it was so wonderfully dark at night the star-watching was amazing. We had a great stay! Only about 20 minutes from the International Owl Center in Houston, MN.
