POOL SEASON IS FROM APRIL TO THANKSGIVING. POOL HEATER IS TURNED ON ONCE TEMPERATURES ARE CONSISTENTLY 60 DEGREES AND UP.

Start a grand beach escape with a decadent stay at the 6 bedroom, 4.5 bath plus private outdoor shower at CJ's Getaway. Luxurious both inside and out, the whimsical beach decor creates a warm, inviting vacation atmosphere, and the impeccable interior design offers gleaming hardwood floors, comfortable furniture throughout, a fully equipped kitchen, and a fireplace to warm you in the off-season. Most of the furniture and appliances in this cottage are brand new.

CJ's Getaway is a perfect home for family entertaining. The private, HEATED, in-ground pool (10’x20’) is a great spot to soak up the afternoon sun or splash with the kids. Pool closed in winter, opens at outdoor temp of 55 degrees. The hot tub is the ideal spot to unwind after a great day filled with beach activities, and the home is equipped with surround sound in the main and movie areas! Multiple decks offer the opportunity to relax in the tranquil Outer Banks environment and visit with loved ones. Enjoy warm afternoon sun while the fresh ocean breezes keep you cool and gaze at the night sky filled with bright stars.

CJ's Getaway is also centrally located in the popular community of Old Nags Head Place, and is a short distance from unique beach shops, great restaurants with local flavor, and fun attractions for the entire family. We are .5 miles from Dowdy Park which is great for kids. Jockey's Ridge State Park, the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern United States is easily accessible by a pedestrian walkway. Jockey's Ridge is a great spot to walk up and enjoy the sunset over the Sound...arguably the best sunset on the beach. Just a short 6 minute walk to the beach access using the community HOA path.

After long days at the pool, the park, or at the beach, family members can keep the fun going in the interior of CJ's Getaway, thanks to a collection of fun amenities. This home boasts multiple living areas, including a ground floor living area and a top level great room that’s flooded with bright natural light. Relax in the living area with desk, gas fireplace, and 65" Smart TV, or head to the Screened porch with picnic table for dining alfresco. (There’s also an interior dining area with a table for 14 and a bar with 6 seats.) No matter how you choose to relax, CJ's Getaway has the spot for you.

Great famil beach vaca

House exactly as advertised. Pleanty of room and very clean. Everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the home. Backyard pool area could use some TLC with landscaping and plantings but pool worked great and hot tub as well. Overall a great week!

Only issue was paying for a hut tub that didn’t work. Pool was heated and great just disappointed in hot tub. We all were looking forward to using it.

Family vac

This home had everything you could want for the beach and a good variety to entertain kids. The property managers were very responsive every step of the way. Loved the location, and the backyard artificial grass was clutch for kids play. Our only complaint is that the steps and porches were a bit run down. There are several areas that need wood replaced and made us nervous for the kids getting splinters. Also, pool was not very clean (a bit slimey) and main level carpet had pet hair (not very good for a crawling infant). Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay here.

Live for Golf

How do you ensure that 8 mature ladies will have all of the amenities they might want for a golf trip to the Outer Banks? Rent this house. We had a blast playing corn hole, lounging in the hot tub and sharing recipes in the spacious kitchen. Plenty of room for all of us to kick back with a glass of wine and enjoy golf on TV under the glow of the automatic fireplace.

Great family holiday hangout!

We just had a 3-generational family gathering for Thanksgiving that this house was perfect for! Colin, the host was fantastic in responding to all communication in a very timely and effective manner. We found the kitchen well stocked for fixing meals and dining with our group of 12. The bedrooms were all as described with comfortable sleeping. The backyard space was terrific for nice weather recreation including the hot tub and turf space for yard games. Inside, we particularly loved the large dining room table which fit everyone and allowed for lots of game playing and puzzles when not being used for meals. The beach access was a leisurely walk through a quiet neighborhood. Dowdy Park and Jockey's Ridge were also walkable from the house making this an awesome location. We would absolutely stay here again!

Family Fun

Amazing! We had 12 people and a newborn. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub just about every night. A whole stock of board games that aren’t advertised were very nice. The large dining table allowed us to all play games and eat food together. Kitchen is however on the third floor and stairs are hard on older joints going up and down so much. The shower water pressure is amazing and response from the owner was immediate when need for questions or any concerns. Spacious backyard allowed for activities with nice seating and all the king sized and full beds were very nice. Everyone got their own room and bed with their own bathroom just about. Having the washer and dryer came in handy just about every night. The walk to the beach was not far. The public access point was right next to a pier. Anything we had not brought such as sugar, trash bags, toilet paper, dishwasher pods, paper towels and soap were all there (potentially left by prior people).

Roomy accomodations however kitchen pots and pans don't accommodate the amount of people you have. (No cutting board or vegetable peeler) if you have to make a meal for 15, it was difficult.

Great family getaway

Close to the beach! Great pool and hot tub. Check in process was very easy and Colin was very responsive to everything we needed House was very family friendly and had a lot of items we needed - pool toys, beach chairs, floats, high chair, beach wagon. The only negative is being on 3 levels with very little kids but they did provide a baby gate!

MDW in OBX

I came here with my extended family for memorial day weekend as my cousin was getting married on the island. For 11 adults all ages 30+ I felt this house was perfect for us. We all had enough space that we were not on top of eachother and the number of king/full beds was beneficial. Unfortunately it rained the entire weekend so we were unable to use the pool or beach and were really stuck inside the entire time. Colin was quick to respond when needed and was a pleasure to work with. The only thing we wish we'd known was the double bed room was a walk through room in order to get to the movie room and other king bed room down stairs, but it didnt end up being an issue for us. We would definitely come back and stay here, with hopefully better weather to fully enjoy it!

Plenty of Room

We had a group of friends get together to celebrate a couple getting married! There was tons of space for everyone to spread out, quick walk to the beach, and the backyard was perfect! The owner was very helpful in getting a few things the cleaners had forgot to us quickly and answering questions throughout the weekend. The pool was very cold, not sure if the heater just wasn’t on or not working. Overall a great house and place to stay!

Fishing trip with church friends

12 men from church went deep sea fishing out of Oregon Inlet this year for the first time. I found this house and thought it was the perfect fit for our group. And it was! Very clean, great location, smooth process and a really nice back yard. Highly recommended!

CJ's Hideaway

Loved backyard; heated pool and hot tub were a big plus. Theater room was fun for night time movie; sleeping quarters and mattresses were great but we were surprised that a property of this size did not provide linens; Proximity to beach and to local shops and entertainment was perfect.

Wonderful home for family gathering

Spacious home that was comfortable and large enough for multiple family groups. Great outdoor area out back for lounging, playing games and lounging poolside. Kitchen and living area had lots of seating. Bedrooms were spacious and attractive, and teens enjoyed the bonus room for hanging out. Enjoyed all the deck space and outdoor seating. The host was very responsive and accommodating with a few questions and extra needs that we had.

Perfect getaway!

We rented the home for a weekend and it wasn’t enough! The home was beautiful, well equipped and was wonderfully located with a very short and easy walk to the beach, and a drive across the street to the dunes. The home had plenty of space and bathrooms for the 12 of us, with a huge dining table and large family room upstairs, and second tv room downstairs for the kids to hang out. We spent most of our time enjoying the back yard, enjoying the hot tub and pool. We had a fantastic stay and are already looking into going back and staying here again!

Excellent experience - would highly recommend

The property was amazing and Colin did a great job communicating / accommodating any small requests. Our group spent plenty of time in the pool, hot tub, and enjoyed some lawn games on the turf. Having a fridge in the basement by the pool was clutch. So were the beach chairs, inflatables, and coolers. It was very well stocked. The house was clean and spacious. Pictures were as advertised, and it was a short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Family Vacation

Colin’s beach house was the perfect layout and location for our family! Great room allowed for big dinners and game night in the evening. Movie/game room downstairs was a great spot for the kids to play video games and watch movies. Outdoor area was awesome!! Plenty of space for laying out and yard games. Pool is perfect for relaxing or family pool volleyball! Walkway to the beach was close and had such a nice path. Great location close to shopping and restaurants. Colin is quick to respond with any questions. Overall, a great trip and wonderful beach house!! Would definitely stay there again!

Beautifully decorated home

Beautiful property a little less than 10 minute walk to the beach. Plenty of space and bedrooms for multiple couples or families. We enjoyed the pool as a respite from The heat of the week. The home was clean and cozy.
